She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 914

Hearing his sister's name instantly cut Hank's fury in half. He dialed her number immediately.

Loyce had clearly been expecting the call. She didn't mince words. "I never said I was stopping you from pursuing her. But who she dates, and how many people she sees, is none of your business. Stay out of it."

Hank gritted his teeth. "And what if she falls for one of them? What am I supposed to do then? Just die alone?"

Loyce let out a soft laugh. "Wow, Hank, are you really that insecure? You think you can't compete with a bunch of average Joes?"

He fell silent for two agonizing seconds before letting out a self-deprecating chuckle. "In her eyes, I'm probably a lot less appealing than a safe, boring, average Joe."

"Hank, I think you're missing the point," Loyce said, her tone growing serious. "Giselle knew from day one that your life was never going to be 'safe,' but she fell in love with you anyway, didn't she? You're the one who completely wrecked it."

He lowered his eyes. "People can change."

"Exactly. People change. She might not love you right now, but that doesn't mean she won't ever love you again," she said smoothly. "That is entirely up to you and how you handle this."

Hank pressed his lips together, sounding utterly defeated. "Loyce... what the hell am I supposed to do?"

Glancing over at Lucian Shapiro, who was currently feeding their baby a bottle, Loyce smiled. "Didn't my husband give you the playbook ages ago?"

Only two words flashed in Hank's mind.

Shameless persistence.
