She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 937

Giselle leaned back against the new sofa, her eyes fixed on the text message Chadwick Dawson had just sent, reminding her not to miss their dinner tonight. Her lips pressed into a thin line, her gaze turning dark and heavy.

Hank walked out of the kitchen holding a mug of warm honey water. Seeing the icy expression on her face, he pulled out his phone, dialed a number, and gave a few sharp, clipped instructions.

Less than half an hour later, the doorbell rang.

A man in a black leather jacket stepped inside. In his hands, he carried two pristine garment bags and a sleek, black leather briefcase. He set the items down in the entryway, gave Hank a stiff, respectful nod, and walked out without uttering a single syllable.

"Who was that?" Giselle asked, watching the door close.

"Wraith. I picked him up after you left Metropia, and he's been my right-hand man ever since."

Hank unzipped the garment bags. Inside was a stunning charcoal women's suit with an impeccable drape and razor-sharp tailoring. It came paired with a black silk blouse and a pair of low-heeled pointed stilettos. "Your clothes from yesterday are ruined. Wear this."

Giselle took the bags into the bedroom. The fit was absolutely perfect, instantly transforming her into a picture of ruthless, elegant power.

When she emerged, Hank had changed as well. He was dressed in a tailored black dress shirt and gunmetal grey trousers. The sleeves of his shirt were rolled up to his forearms, revealing taut muscle and a luxury watch that cost more than most houses.

He stood perfectly balanced between the sunlight filtering through the window and the shadows of the room, radiating an overwhelming, feral charisma.

Noticing her staring, he turned toward her, a slow smirk spreading across his face. "Like what you see?"

Giselle immediately looked away and headed for the door, though her heart pounded. He looked like a wolf wearing a suit.

Before they stepped out, Hank handed her the black briefcase. "Take a look at what's inside. You might find it useful."

Giselle unzipped it and pulled out a thick stack of files. She scanned the first page and her breath hitched. It was a meticulously detailed web of Chadwick Dawson's illegal supply chain monopolies in Metropia, heavily cross-referenced with his off-the-books mob connections. Every name on the list came with an agonizingly thorough breakdown of their dirty laundry.

She looked up at him. "When did you get this?"

"Had my people dig it up after you fell asleep last night." Hank leaned casually against the entryway wall, his hands tucked into his pockets. "If I'm going to make a move, I burn them to the ground. For our daughter."

Giselle carefully slid the documents back into the briefcase and zipped it shut, her eyes hardening with resolve. "Let's go."

Hank chuckled softly.

She was incredible.
