She’s Back, and Hell’s Coming with Her novel Chapter 340

Stella could practically hear a funeral dirge playing in her head for him.

She was ready to douse his enthusiasm with a bucket of cold water.

“Want your daddy to come identify your body?”

Frank glared at her, indignant.

“This isn’t fair! There’s like thirty of them and only four of us. Not even Hercules could take them on!”

Stella shot back, “Then how about you hold them off while I go get help?”

Frank scowled, glaring at unsympathetic Stella.

How was he supposed to stall them? He could barely keep moving as it was. If they caught up, it’d be game over.

Stella couldn’t be bothered to answer. She just kept running. The alley was deserted—nobody ever walked this way at night, and tonight was no exception. Not a soul in sight.

Frank claimed he’d called the police. By now, they should have shown up… but there was no siren, no sign of help. Stella was starting to seriously doubt he’d told the truth.

They had to get out of this alley, fast. Otherwise, they really might get beaten to death.

Stella wasn’t far from the alley’s mouth. She grabbed Frank’s arm and sprinted for the exit. But just as they reached the end, a glint of steel flashed—a machete swung straight at them.

So these guys had been lying in wait for them all along!

They tumbled and scrambled out of the way.

Frank couldn’t stop himself from shouting, “Do you even know who I am? I’m with the Chase family from Crowncrest City—”

He ducked reflexively. “Hey! Not the face!”

Stella, moving with practiced ease, knocked a black-clad attacker flat before dragging Frank toward freedom again.

He was about to keel over—not from the beatings, but from sheer exhaustion.

They both bolted in opposite directions.

But less than a minute later, Frank came tearing back, wild-eyed.

“Help! Somebody help!”

Stella didn’t need to turn around—she could hear him barreling toward her. He caught up, grabbed her arm, and dragged her along as he sprinted.

Stella groaned internally.

They were both running for their lives, breathless, with a gang of men wielding clubs in hot pursuit. More than once, a blow nearly connected.

But at least, now, they finally had some teamwork going—dodging when they had to, or else letting Stella take the lead and drop their pursuers with her silver needles.
