She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 133

Lyra posted an update on her social media: "The ring has been returned. From this day forward, we are going our separate ways."

Attached was a photo she had taken of the Jameson family ring sitting on the leather seat of her car.

She hadn't initially planned to post anything at all.

But during Caleb's wedding, she had noticed the relentless, calculating stares darting between her and Rowan.

After a bit of thought, she decided to make it public.

It was the ultimate closure for their social circle, for strangers, and most importantly, for herself.

Maisie was lounging around, popping fruit into her mouth with a tiny fork, when she was shocked to see a notification from Lyra's long-dormant feed.

She choked down a piece of melon and immediately started typing furiously in the comments: "Good for you, girl! If that toxic jerk doesn't appreciate you, tell him to take a hike back to wherever he came from—" She paused, suddenly realizing what she was typing.

That "toxic jerk" was literally her cousin, Rowan.

Maisie gasped and frantically deleted the comment before anyone could see it.

Vivienne, who was reading a magazine next to her, snatched her daughter's phone to look. She let out a mocking scoff.

"Since when is Lyra capable of acting so restrained?"

The photo was clearly taken from inside Arthur's car. That meant Lyra had been hiding in the backseat while she and Rowan were talking in the driveway. She had heard everything and been too terrified to show her face.

"That girl is just a timid, small-minded coward," Vivienne sneered, shaking her head.

She shot Maisie a stern look. "Stay away from her from now on. You don't want to upset your future cousin-in-law."

Maisie blinked. "What cousin-in-law?"

"Jasmine, obviously."

Maisie stared at her, speechless.

Vivienne laughed, patting her daughter's cheek as if she were a fool. "Rowan was an academic prodigy and now he's a corporate titan. Only a brilliant woman like Jasmine can truly operate on his level."

"Mark my words, they'll be married before you know it."

Meanwhile, at the Fairchild residence.

Lyra's phone had been blowing up since her post went live. She received a flood of texts, including a voice message from Leo.

Finn stared at his brilliant, invincible older sister, feeling a sudden, strange flicker of pity for Lyra. "Jasmine, is Lyra... going to be okay?"

Jasmine shot Finn a look of utter bewilderment.

"Lyra was never good enough for Rowan. It was doomed from the start!" Tabitha sneered. In her eyes, the only woman worthy of standing beside the billionaire CEO was her own daughter.

Jonathan took a sip of his wine, a smug grin plastered across his face. "Don't be a buzzkill, Finn. This is incredible news. Your sister is gorgeous, brilliant, and untouchable. There is no shame in Lyra losing to her."

In stark contrast to her family's frenzied celebration, Jasmine calmly stirred her soup. She had always known this day would come.

It wasn't exactly a shock, so she didn't feel the need to jump for joy.

Her real triumph would be the day she officially married into the Jameson empire. Until then, she had more than enough patience to play the long game.

After dinner, Jasmine retreated to her bedroom and instinctively pulled up Lyra's social media profile.

Even though she had blocked Lyra a long time ago.

Jasmine used to spend hours obsessing over Lyra's timeline.

The Fords were nowhere near as wealthy as the Fairchilds. Their small manufacturing business barely kept them afloat, and draining their bank accounts to send her to study abroad had stretched them to their absolute limits.
