She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 204

After the dental procedure, half of Lyra's face was swollen.

Surprisingly, it didn't hurt much after a while. She spat out the cotton gauze, rinsed her mouth, and drank some water.

Instead of taking Lyra straight home, Madeline drove her to a different location. "I hired some bodyguards for you."

Madeline had seen the video online earlier and laughed out of pure rage. If she didn't know exactly what kind of person Jasmine was, she probably would have cheered for the flawless martial arts throw like all the clueless netizens.

But the truth was, Lyra was utterly defenseless against Jasmine. It was too late to start learning Taekwondo or Karate now. When Lyra was little, she had taken dance classes but couldn't even master a backbend. Arthur had felt so bad for her that he pulled her out of the classes, let alone let her learn combat sports.

So, there was only one option left—hiring professionals.

The men Madeline had lined up were all tall, well-built, and ridiculously handsome.

Lyra took one look at them and sighed softly. "Am I hiring bodyguards or male models? Forget it..."

"They've got real skills! Just pick two. How many teeth do you have left to lose?"

Lyra was already in a foul mood and completely tuned her out. She turned on her heel and walked away without looking back.

Madeline quickly chased after her. Seeing the group of men still standing there like statues, she waved them off irritably. "We're done here, go home!"

Lyra didn't dare go back to the Fairchild estate. She didn't want her mother to see her swollen face, so she steered clear of The Willow Creek Retreat as well.

Terrified that Delilah might stumble upon the viral video of her getting slammed to the ground, Lyra secretly instructed a maid to confiscate her mother's phone when she wasn't looking, bringing it all the way to the office.

She then contacted Quentin Pierce, asking him to meet her in the parking garage, take the phone, and install a backdoor program on it.

When Quentin took Delilah's phone, he sounded genuinely concerned. "Are you okay?"

"I'm not dead yet," Lyra replied dryly.

Quentin couldn't help but feel she had acted too recklessly.

While waiting in the car, Lyra scrolled through her social media.

"The news stations want to interview you."

"Interview me?" Lyra was taken aback.

She had done nothing but lose miserably to Jasmine. There was absolutely nothing newsworthy about her.

Just then, Quentin returned. She quickly told her brother to send the reporters away and hung up.

Quentin handed the phone back to her, the software fully installed. "It's done. Every message, search history, and push notification will be silently logged in the background and mirrored directly to your phone without her knowing."

"Thank you."

As Lyra took the phone and prepared to leave, Quentin added, "Don't be so reckless next time."

Lyra offered a faint smile and drove off.

Not long after, Jasmine was involved in a severe car crash.
