She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 233

Agnes was naturally disappointed to leave without meeting her granddaughter's future husband.

The next morning at eight-thirty, as they sat at the breakfast table, she asked Jasmine again, "When are we having dinner so I can meet Rowan?"

"Let me make a call," Jasmine said.

Rowan didn't answer Jasmine's call. She returned to the table without any annoyance. "At this hour... he's probably in a meeting."

Agnes, always understanding, replied, "It's a good thing for a man to be busy. A career should come first. A young man like Rowan, who carries such a massive empire on his shoulders, must be composed, responsible, meticulous, and decisive. You'd be hard-pressed to find anyone else in your circle who can match him."

The rest of the Ford family chuckled in agreement.

Agnes sighed softly. "It's just a shame he didn't get to see you shine. He didn't have time to make it to your race."

"It's fine. Elara recorded it for me, and I sent it to him. Rowan already congratulated me," Jasmine reassured her.

"That's good." Agnes nodded in satisfaction.

Another day passed, and it was truly time for Agnes to leave. Having missed her chance to meet Rowan, the whole family felt a twinge of regret as they saw her off at the airport.

Before boarding, Agnes held Jasmine's hands.

"My vacation time is up, so I probably won't be able to make it to your engagement party. I'm wishing you a happy engagement in advance."

"Thank you, Grandma."

Jasmine gently hugged Agnes, a wave of unspoken regret washing over her. She had failed to introduce her grandmother to Rowan after all.

Her grandmother was a highly respected scholar. If she could have sat down with Rowan, given their shared intellect and class, they would have had endless things to talk about. Unfortunately, the opportunity had slipped away.

She thought she saw Lyra!

The last time they met, Lyra was still on good terms with Jasmine. She had sweetly called her "Grandma" right alongside Jasmine, her eyes sparkling like two little suns. Even back then, Agnes had secretly wondered how someone like her was qualified to marry into the Jameson family.

Lyra was always draped in designer brands, spending her parents' money, and clearly had no interest in her studies. Agnes had assumed Rowan would never fall for such a shallow woman.

—And she was proven right.

Her granddaughter was the one who truly earned it.

Thinking of this, Agnes's smile returned. When she looked again, the girl was gone.

Brushing it off, Agnes turned and boarded her flight.
