She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 237

Jasmine stepped forward, intimately wrapping her arm around the man's arm. "We were just praising you for being so punctual today."

She shot a slightly provocative look at Lyra.

Lyra's gaze, however, was fixed on a speeding delivery driver wearing an orange helmet with fluffy fox ears. She didn't even look at them...

Victoria said, "Rowan, you drop Lyra off. I have a gala to attend tonight, so I'll take my driver's car back to get ready."

"Alright."

Victoria left first in her chauffeur-driven car.

Lyra walked behind Rowan and Jasmine.

Staring at their backs, a thought suddenly crossed her mind. Before the yacht incident, when Rowan went overseas to take over the Jameson family's international businesses, Jasmine was also in California. Had the two of them really been in contact back then?

The realization hit her. In the past, a thought like that would have felt like a bucket of ice water dumped over her head.

Now, it just drifted through her mind, leaving no ripples at all.

If anything, it just added another layer of disgust in her eyes.

Suddenly, Rowan turned his head and looked at Lyra...

The moment their eyes met, Lyra froze. She hadn't expected him to turn around just then. Recovering quickly, she instantly masked the trace of hatred in her gaze.

"What's wrong, Rowan?" Jasmine also glanced back at Lyra.

Rowan withdrew his gaze.

He casually opened the passenger door, and Jasmine ducked inside.

Lyra didn't move toward the back seat. Instead, she pulled out her phone. "I'll grab a cab. There's no need to trouble you."

Rowan stood by the car, silent, clearly waiting for her to get in. The road by the north entrance was so narrow it could only fit one car at a time, and the vehicles behind them were already honking impatiently. Frowning slightly, Lyra finally pulled open the door and got in.

She made up her mind.

To prevent Victoria from dragging her into these fake, happy family outings again, she planned to piss her off so badly next time that the woman would never want to seek her out again.

Not long after they pulled away, Caleb's call finally came through.

Did that idiot mistake five minutes for fifteen?

Lyra answered. Caleb told her to get to the office, and she mumbled a few agreements. "I'm heading back now."
