She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 257

Fairchild Holdings had been insanely busy recently. After acquiring several clients from Ford Enterprises, Caleb was practically working around the clock. Lyra's work group chats were blowing up with endless project notifications. Once Delilah realized how swamped the company was, she agreed to let Lyra return to work after only a few days of rest.

The next morning, Lyra got ready and hurried to the office. As soon as she walked in, the receptionist called her over. Sitting on the front desk was a massive, stunning bouquet of fresh flowers, exuding a subtle, alluring fragrance.

Lyra looked at it in surprise. "Who sent these?"

The receptionist shook her head, clueless.

Lyra carried the massive arrangement to her office. Tearing open the envelope, she found a card with a single, elegant letter written on it—

J.

Caleb happened to walk in just then. Spotting the flowers, his eyes lit up and he teased, "Not bad, Lyra! Someone finally has the sense to send my sister flowers."

He paused, leaning in to check the card. Raising an eyebrow, he asked curiously, "But... who's J?"

Lyra shook her head.

"Well, it can't be Rowan Jameson," Caleb mused. "He's got a fiancée, and he's allergic to pollen. Definitely not him."

Secretary Montgomery arrived with a stack of documents. Caleb quickly excused himself. "I need to head to the factory to check on the new orders. You review those files."

Lyra quickly reminded him, "Make sure you come back by noon! I have to go to the Seaborne Tech Expo with Quentin and his team this afternoon."

"Will do."

Lyra was swamped all morning. At noon, she grabbed lunch in the cafeteria with Quentin and his team before packing up for the expo.

Fairchild Holdings was heavily promoting their next-generation smart tech. Lyra was planted at their booth, meeting with clients and answering endless inquiries, barely finding a second to grab water.

After seeing off a group of VIPs, she turned to check out the competitor's area, only to freeze in front of the Grayson Group's massive display.

Grayson Group was showcasing their latest platform with incredible fanfare. But it was the male technician standing center stage, calmly answering questions, that made Lyra's heart skip a beat.

He was slightly stocky, wearing a dark button-down shirt and thin, black-rimmed glasses, looking completely in his element.

The more Lyra stared, the more familiar he looked.

At first, she thought she was mistaken—that he was just a random staffer.

But moments later, Waylon walked over and addressed the technician as "Donovan."

Lyra knew immediately she hadn't been mistaken.

That was Donovan Lewis—the fourth core lead engineer from Jameson Tech.

She hadn't even managed to track him down yet.

And he was already working for Waylon.

Lyra stared at Waylon.

Just then, Waylon turned his head and caught her looking.

He offered a polite smile and gave a small nod.

His expression betrayed absolutely nothing.
