She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 326

When Lyra rushed into the house, Martha was quietly mopping the entryway. Every movement was careful, the atmosphere suffocatingly tense.

Delilah sat rigidly in the center of the living room sofa, a grayish pallor clinging to her face.

Kayla saw Lyra walk in and simply offered a gentle smile, as if she was entirely unbothered.

"Kayla, Mom..." Lyra asked frantically, "Are you hurt?"

"It's alright. Vivienne got a phone call and rushed out in a panic before she could do much damage," Delilah said, pulling Lyra into her arms and gently rubbing her back. "As unreasonable as that woman is, she wouldn't resort to violence."

"What about you, Kayla?"

Kayla reassured her. "I'm perfectly safe."

"I already told Kayla to stay upstairs if anything like this happens again," Delilah added.

Delilah looked down at her daughter. "If you truly have feelings for Zane, then follow your heart. Nothing else matters."

Lyra rested quietly in her mother's embrace, her chest feeling heavy.

How could it not matter?

Vivienne was targeting her family.

"I don't have feelings for him."

Lyra pulled back slightly and looked up at her mother. "I only see him as a very good friend."

Sitting nearby, Kayla watched her in silence, a complex emotion flickering in her eyes.

Delilah reached up and gently stroked her daughter's soft hair, her eyes brimming with heartache. "Don't force yourself."
