She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 350

Once Lyra was finally able to speak normally, her voice sounding just like it always had, she immediately grabbed her phone and called home.

She easily spun a cheerful lie, claiming she was having the time of her life on vacation and wanted to extend her trip a few more days.

But Delilah Fairchild knew her daughter too well to miss the subtle tension. Refusing to buy the excuse, she demanded fiercely that Lyra return home immediately.

Lyra stubbornly insisted she wanted to stay longer, refusing to elaborate, and quickly hung up the phone.

The second the call ended, she broke down in miserable tears.

Just then, the hospital room door swung open, and Rowan strolled in. His gaze landed directly on her tear-streaked face. "Crying again?" he drawled, a hint of dark amusement in his tone.

Lyra said nothing, remaining propped up against her pillows with a death grip on her phone.

Seeing that she had absolutely no intention of acknowledging him, Rowan didn't push it. He walked straight into the attached bathroom and casually hung up the fresh clothes he had brought from home.

Watching him, Lyra's heart plummeted into her stomach.

Was he planning on practically moving in here?

The terrifying thought threw her into a total, hyperventilating panic.

"Get out! Get the hell out! If it weren't for you, I never would have crashed! This is all your fault! Every single ounce of suffering I've gone through is because of you! If you hadn't forced your way into my life, I would be perfectly fine! I wouldn't be in this living hell!"

After everything he had done to her, she genuinely could not bear the sight of him.

The air in the room grew suffocatingly heavy. Rowan simply stared at her pale, furious face.

"I had my people sweep the crash site. The truck did cross the center line, but only because it was an oversized load taking the curve. You had more than enough room to pass safely. The only reason you crashed was because you were completely distracted... you were on your phone. Let me guess, what was so incredibly urgent that you had to make a call while navigating a treacherous downhill slope in the pouring rain? Heh... My number is permanently blocked, but you'll risk your life to dial another man."
