She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 351

Rowan released her with a low chuckle. "Look at you. Lying here half-dead only makes it easier for me to torment you. Being paralyzed is so helpless, isn't it? Will you dare to let yourself get hurt again? Don't have another accident, or no one will be able to save you. You need to take responsibility for your own body."

Lyra gasped for air, a suffocating ache radiating through her chest.

A wave of overwhelming despair washed over her, and unshed tears blurred her vision.

"Don't get so worked up," Rowan said, his voice deceptively smooth.

He lightly patted her cheek. "I just wanted to warn you. Stop doing such dangerous things. It's your life on the line."

Right then, the doctor on duty pushed open the door and walked into the room, expertly preparing the IV drip. Noticing Lyra's pale complexion, he chuckled lightly. "What's wrong? A little lover's quarrel?"

"No," Rowan replied coolly.

The oppressive aura radiating from the man was so suffocating that the doctor quickly hooked up the IV bag and hurried out the door.

"We'll talk when you're feeling better. Get some rest now. I'll keep an eye on your fluids."

A chilling numbness settled over Lyra's heart. Unwilling to look at him, she closed her eyes and eventually drifted into a restless sleep.

Maddie was just about to push open the hospital room door when she caught sight of Rowan gently tucking the blankets around Lyra.

She froze in her tracks, completely stunned.

Once she recovered from the shock, she quietly backed away.

Rowan stepped out a moment later, greeting her briefly before claiming he had business to attend to. Maddie's mind was reeling. The moment Lyra woke up, she blurted out, "Does Rowan have a thing for you?"
