She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 465

The next day, Rowan left for his business trip.

While he was en route, Charles Jameson caught wind of what happened to the Ford family and called him. "You were so ruthless in kicking out your ex-girlfriend's family. How is the Wynter family supposed to look at you now?"

Rowan shot back, "What does this have to do with the Wynter family?"

Charles was instantly left speechless. He knew full well that Rowan's connection to Sylvia was entirely a one-sided setup orchestrated by the elders of both families. Rowan had never once agreed to date her.

Rowan was gone for five days, giving Lyra five days of peace. Even though she was still confined and bodyguards still blocked the exits, at least the man who caused her physical and emotional agony wasn't there.

Andrea told her that if she just endured these few days, she would be free—Mr. Jameson's anger wouldn't last forever.

For five straight days, Lyra spoke with Caleb, Kayla, and her mother on the phone daily, occasionally video calling them as long as she didn't reveal Blackwood Manor's surroundings. The days passed by quietly.

When Friday arrived, a sudden stream of cars began pulling into Blackwood Manor.

One arrived every few minutes. Hiding behind the curtains in the bedroom, Lyra watched the influx of vehicles and asked, "What's going on? Did something happen?"

Andrea replied, "Don't panic. They're just the tech team..."

Lyra asked, "Why are they coming here?"

"Mr. Jameson has been away for five days, so there's obviously a lot to report. They know the boss is back, so they're coming here to discuss work. Don't worry, this has happened before."

"Rowan is back?" Lyra's face turned slightly pale. "I thought he wasn't back yet."

Andrea smiled. "You can't expect the boss to wait on his employees. He should be on his way right now."

With that, she left the room.

Lyra's expression darkened further. She picked at her fingers, pacing nervously around the bedroom.

The first thing Rowan would do when he got back was change his clothes. He didn't always wear sharp suits at home; he usually dressed quite comfortably.
