"Send me your location," Lyra said decisively. "I don't have an invitation, so you'll have to come grab me at the door."

She hung up, raced upstairs, and quickly changed into an elegant evening gown, throwing a shawl over her shoulders and touching up her makeup to a flawless, natural finish.
