She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 557

Rowan grabbed Jayden by the collar, his fist suspended in the air. His knuckles were stretched bone-white, and an uncontrollable, violent rage surged in his eyes. He was a second away from bringing it crashing down.

Andrea quickly stepped forward, throwing an arm between the two men, firmly holding back Rowan who was coiled to strike. She urged, "Mr. Jameson, finding Miss Fairchild is the top priority right now. She is so weak; it's very dangerous for her to be out alone."

Her words forced Rowan to suppress the roaring fire in his chest. He violently shoved Jayden away.

Andrea turned to Jayden, whose shirt was now crumpled. "Mr. Ward, you still haven't told us where Miss Fairchild went. She disappeared from your place; it's impossible that you don't know."

Jayden raised a hand to straighten his wrinkled collar. Not a hint of panic showed on his face as he replied dismissively, "She just rested here for a moment, then left on her own soon after. I assume she just went straight home."

Hearing this, the ice in Rowan's eyes deepened. He gritted out, "You'd better be telling the truth."

Jayden looked perfectly unfazed. "It's nothing but the truth. Why don't you go check her house?"

Lacking any solid evidence at the moment, Rowan could only choke down his boiling fury and rush toward the Fairchild residence.

Andrea went inside the Fairchild house but found absolutely no trace of Lyra. She came out and told Rowan she wasn't there.

Rowan's heart sank. He immediately scrolled through his contacts and dialed Caleb's number. The second it connected, he couldn't hold back his burning anxiety. "Caleb, Lyra is missing. As her brother, how can you not care at all about where she is?"

Caleb was still out at a business dinner. "What the hell does my sister's business have to do with you? She's a grown adult, you expect me to keep her tied to my belt every day? As long as she doesn't get kidnapped by you, anywhere she goes is safer than being by your side!"

Rowan took a deep breath. The Fairchild siblings were always giving an inch and taking a mile. Sometimes he genuinely wanted to treat Lyra better, hoping she wouldn't always be sobbing in tears every time she saw him. Yet every single time, his efforts were thrown back in his face.
