She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 573

Sabrina noticed that while Rowan looked composed on the surface, his gaze was practically glued to his woman.

He wore a pristine white dress shirt and dark trousers. With his broad shoulders and commanding height, he radiated an untouchable, aristocratic aura. When he lowered his eyes, his sharp, chiseled jawline and devastatingly handsome profile were almost too intense to look at directly.

Next to him, Lyra sat with her luminous skin and ethereal beauty, nibbling at her food. She looked utterly captivating.

Internally, Sabrina was screaming with pure fangirl joy at the sight of them together.

Lyra tried to force down a bite of vegetables to settle her stomach, but the nausea only intensified, crushing the breath from her lungs. Pressing her lips tightly together, she grabbed her clutch and leaned toward Sabrina. "I need to get some fresh air."

Without waiting for a response, she rose gracefully and slipped away from the table. The moment she cleared the banquet hall doors, she broke into a sprint, practically diving into a bathroom stall before losing her lunch.

After emptying her stomach, Lyra moved to the sink to rinse her mouth and splash cold water on her face. Just as she was touching up her makeup, Sabrina hurried in.

"Lyra, are you okay? Are you..."

Lyra immediately pressed a finger to her lips, motioning for her friend to keep her voice down.

Catching on instantly, Sabrina nodded and dropped her voice to a soft whisper. "Are you sure you're all right?"

"Much better," Lyra assured her. After fixing her lipstick, the two of them headed back toward the reception.

They had barely walked a few yards down the hallway when they spotted Rowan leaning casually against the railing. A lit cigarette was pinched between his fingers, the faint curl of white smoke drifting past his face. He lifted his gaze, his eyes landing on Lyra with unreadable depths. "It was getting stuffy in there. Came out for a smoke."

Reading the room perfectly, Sabrina tried to discreetly slip away to give them some privacy. But Lyra clamped a hand around her wrist in a vice grip, pulling her along as if Rowan didn't even exist.

Sabrina silently sent up a prayer for the man.

The atmosphere inside the banquet hall was electric.

The bride and groom had thrown on tiny, retro sunglasses and were performing a heavily choreographed exit dance on stage. The guests were roaring with laughter, cheering and clapping wildly.

Under the dim, flashing strobe lights, Sabrina and Lyra walked hand in hand back to their table.
