She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 572

Lyra picked out two beautiful notebooks, planning to use them for journaling at home. As they passed a baby boutique, her footsteps faltered. An overwhelming urge to step inside gripped her. Terrified of raising suspicion, she quickly made up an excuse, claiming she wanted to buy a first birthday gift for the twins in her family. With that cover story, she walked inside.

But she forced herself to hold back. She didn't dare buy a single item for her own unborn child, instead strictly purchasing two toddler-sized outfits for the twins.

The days flew by, and soon enough, the morning of Madeline and Leo's wedding arrived.

Lyra headed to the bride's house early to witness the morning preparations. The Jameson family, however, went straight to the hotel. Looking at the seating chart for the reception, she realized with a sinking feeling that she and Rowan Jameson were assigned to the same table, likely grouped together with mutual friends.

Thank God his seat wasn't directly next to hers. The buffer space offered a small sliver of relief for her fraying nerves.

Delilah, Caleb, and Mrs. Jameson were all seated elsewhere.

When the ceremony reached the bouquet toss, Madeline spun around and hurled the flowers into the crowd. They sailed through the air and landed squarely in Rowan's lap. But he was severely allergic to pollen. The moment the petals brushed against his skin, a stifling itch began to close his throat.

Without a second of hesitation, Rowan shoved the bouquet straight into Lyra's arms, stood up, and briskly headed for the restrooms.

Charles, the Chavez family elders, and every single guest at their table saw the entire exchange perfectly. Lyra sat there clutching the fragrant flowers, utterly frozen and unsure of what to do with them.

Luckily, Sabrina swooped in, joking that she was desperate to get married. She smoothly plucked the bouquet from Lyra's hands, saving her from the suffocating awkwardness.

A full fifteen minutes passed before Rowan returned. His face was damp with water, and he had discarded his bespoke suit jacket. Now wearing only a crisp, tailored dress shirt, his broad shoulders and lean physique were on full display. The slight dishevelment only enhanced his effortless, striking masculinity.
