She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 88

Two months later, the Fairchilds officially initiated the marriage preparations, adhering to the traditional customs both families valued so deeply.

Ever since Kayla's first visit, the two families had grown incredibly close. Whenever Caleb dropped Kayla off after a date, her parents enthusiastically insisted he stay for dinner.

Eventually, both sides agreed to skip the formality of an engagement party and dive straight into the wedding.

It was going to be the grandest event of the year, without question.

After consulting with top-tier planners and securing a highly coveted date three months out, the Fairchilds and Harringtons threw themselves into the frantic joy of wedding preparations.

In Lyra's past life, she had actually walked down the aisle long before Caleb ever did.

By the time Caleb finally married, Lyra was already gone.

But this life was completely different.

...

The news of the Fairchild-Harrington union quickly swept through every corner of Seaborne City.

In Jasmine's bedroom, Tabitha sighed dramatically. "I never expected Caleb to settle down so soon."

"Honestly, the whole reason I pushed you to befriend Lyra back then was so you could get close to Caleb."

"He's disciplined, wealthy, and would have made a phenomenal son-in-law. It's a shame the Harrington girl got to him first."

Jasmine let out a faint smile, quietly turning the page of her book. "No matter how rich he is, he can't hold a candle to Rowan."

Tabitha beamed, her regrets instantly vanishing. "That's true. Rowan is at a level most men can only dream of. Nobody in his generation comes close."

Ten Calebs couldn't equate to one Rowan Jameson.

"My daughter always strives for the best. Naturally, you deserve the most unattainable man in Seaborne City!"

Jasmine simply smiled at the praise.

"Though I highly doubt we'll be getting a wedding invitation," Tabitha noted pragmatically. Jasmine had essentially stolen the son-in-law the Fairchilds had their eyes on, and the Fords were actively poaching Fairchild business. They might maintain a polite facade in public, but behind closed doors, they were at war.

"We'll see what he's made of soon enough."

Waylon offered a faint smile and continued, "I just didn't expect Caleb to be the first among us to tie the knot."

The comment sparked Lucas's curiosity, and he looked up at the man meticulously reviewing documents at his desk. "What about you, Rowan? When are you getting married?"

Outside the door, Jasmine's heart began to race. She was desperate to marry Rowan, terrified that any delay would ruin her chances.

"I plan to bring it up to my father tomorrow," Rowan replied, having clearly already made his decision.

Waylon's grip visibly tightened around his coffee mug at the admission.

Lucas, however, was thrilled. "Damn, Rowan! You're actually going to lay it all out for your old man."

Jasmine didn't need to hear anymore. Feigning ignorance, she pushed the door open with a crisp breeze, purposefully strutting in to drop the files on his desk. "Rowan, here are the M&A agreements you asked for."

"Thanks," Rowan said, offering her a soft smile.
