Chapter 1011
“If we can’t produce the evidence today,” Thomas said, “I’m afraid we won’t be walking out of this house alive.”
Rick’s face flushed with indignation. “Utter nonsense! Sharon is family. No matter what happens, we would never allow harm to come to our own!”
Thomas arched a brow, his expression one of sudden revelation.
“Oh? So you truly care for Sharon? In that case, since she was chased through half the city by armed men, surely you’ll see to it that justice is served on her behalf?
“Ah-how careless of me. I nearly forgot. Scott seemed to know who those attackers were, didn’t he? If it’s inconvenient for you to take action, perhaps you could at least tell us who they are. Even if we can’t avenge ourselves, we’d like to know whom to watch out for.”
Rick’s face stiffened. After all, the ones who had pursued Sharon were “family”. How could he possibly admit that?
Before he could respond, Jamie cut in, “You’re wasting my time. Are you dragging this out on purpose-trying to change the subject?”
Thomas turned his gaze toward him. “Impatient, are we? Fine then. Let’s start with you.”
He shifted his attention to Rick. “I assume there’s a projection room in the manor?”
Though suspicious, Rick gave a terse nod and led the group to the estate’s media room-a lavish private theater equipped with a wall-sized screen.
They took their seats in the front row.
Silas, irritated by Thomas’s confidence, gave a derisive snort. “Don’t think you can fool us with some doctored audio clip.”
Thomas cast him an odd, almost pitying glance. “Wouldn’t that suit you just fine? That way, you could divide up Sharon’s shares among yourselves.”
A low, chilling laugh echoed through the speakers-his own voice. (2
“Sharon, you have only one chance for each finger. If you fail to break it… then, regrettably, everyone present will be treated to a free performance. You may begin.”
Moments later, Wendy’s heart-wrenching screams and curses filled the air, searing through the silence.
As the footage continued, Jamie’s figure appeared clearly on the screen. He stepped forward-pressing his shoe hard against Sharon’s hand, grinding down until the sickening crack of breaking bones resounded through the speakers.
If the earlier clips could have been dismissed as staged, this one left no room for doubt.
Jamie’s face was crystal clear, his every cruel movement laid bare before the Kalen family’s horrified eyes.
