Since You Chose Your 'Bro' I Married Your Brother novel Chapter 42

Chapter 7

Chapter 7

The second that evidence dropped, the internet absolutely exploded.

Sera’s lies got completely blown up, and everyone who’d been team Sera immediately flipped, dragging her for being “manipulative as hell” and “a straight-up pathological liar.”

Gabriel was overseas handling business when he finally had a minute to check in with his assistant:

“How’s Summer doing online? Are people still trashing her? If they are, just sick our lawyers on them.”

His assistant shook his head: “Miss Summer’s in the clear now, but, uh…”

He hesitated, then reluctantly showed Gabriel his phone.

The more Gabriel scrolled, the darker his expression got.

He wrapped up his meetings and caught the first flight home, slamming his phone down in front of Sera:

“Sera, what the actual hell is this?”

Sera went white as a sheet looking at the photos and audio, but still tried to lie her way out:

“Summer did this! She’s framing me! It’s all fake!”

“Your signature’s on the medical forms, that’s your voice on the recording-and you’re still gonna lie?”

Gabriel sounded completely done with her.

“God, I’ve been such an idiot about you. Butler, pack her crap and get her out. She’s banned from this property.”

Sera looked shocked for a hot second, then actually started giggling

“Ohhh, I see what’s happening! We’re totally at that part where the leads get torn apart by the evil replacement and everything gets messy!”

“Gabriel Stone, you’re gonna be so sorry you kicked me out! When you finally realize I’m your one true love and come begging, don’t expect me to just take you back!”

She was totally convinced Gabriel would have his big romantic awakening moment.

While packing, she had this whole ‘you’ll come crawling back to me’ energy and waltzed out without a backward glance.

Chapter 7

Gabriel watched her leave and rubbed his face tiredly.

Staring at the quiet, empty house, he found himself missing the warm, lived-in feeling it used to have.

After wrestling with himself forever, he finally grabbed his phone and called me.

“Summer, I owe you yet another apology for the Sera mess.”

I kept it pretty neutral:

“You already said sorry once, Mr. Stone. That’s probably not why you’re calling though, right?”

“You always call me out.” He paused awkwardly. “I saw all the buzz online about you opening a restaurant. Have you given it any real thought?”

“I could back you financially-you wouldn’t need to put in a dime, and you’d keep all the profits.”

I blinked, then cracked up:

“Mr. Stone, is this your sneaky way of trying to get me cooking for you again?”

“No! I just think the world needs to experience your food.” He sounded flustered. “Although, not gonna lie, my stomach’s been pretty unhappy with everyone else’s cooking.”

I mulled it over-I’d been planning to open my own place anyway. An investor who’d stay out of my way? Hell yes.

“Alright, but here’s the deal: you don’t get to boss me around just because you’re funding this, and if you want to eat at my place, you wait in line and make reservations like everybody else. No VIP treatment.”

“Done!” Gabriel agreed instantly.

With Gabriel backing me, my restaurant became the hottest spot in town.

True to his word, Gabriel never meddled in my business and always waited his turn like any other customer.

He showed up for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every single day.

It was just like the old days when I’d cook to help his stomach problems at the mansion.

Only this time, no Sera drama in sight.

I got curious once and asked Gabriel why Sera hadn’t tried reaching out.

He made this face like he’d tasted something nasty, then finally said:

Chapter 7

“Right before she left, she announced we were hitting that plot twist where the main characters get manipulated by the replacement and everything falls apart.

She seemed pretty sure I’d eventually see the light and go chasing after her.”

I just shook my head in amazement.

Sera was really gonna ride that dramatic first love main character energy till the wheels fell off!
