Chapter 11
Chapter 11
“Someone drugged me at the gala? With that kind of drug?”
“And I got in your car thinking it was a rideshare?”
Trying to make sense of this.
“Why don’t I feel anything now?”
Sebastian coughed.
Scratch marks down his throat, vanishing under his shirt. More across his stomach.
Sam’s biceps were decorated with bite marks.
I glanced down at myself. Different dress than I’d worn to the party.
Damn it.
No going back. That was my one rule.
Went limp. Easier to play unconscious.
Sebastian caught me, tucked my head under his chin. “Leave. This is too much for her.”
Sam made a face. “You’re the intense one. I’m easygoing. She literally said she likes guys who know how to have fun.”
I had said that.
I’d also told Sebastian that the strong-silent type did it for me.
Sam left anyway. Couldn’t compete with his twin holding me. Yanked the door open, clearly pissed.
Got kicked backward the second he stepped out.
“What is happening in here?!”
Preston.
I lost it.
Shot upright, out of Sebastian’s arms. “Are you stalking me?!”
Chapter 11
Preston looked like hell. Eyes swollen, shirt ripped, hair everywhere. Fresh bruises forming.
Started throwing things. Lamp. Books. Whatever he could reach.
When there was nothing left to destroy, he sank to the floor, face in his hands.
I nudged him with my foot.
“Quit it. You’re making me look like the villain.”
“Why everyone else but me?”
He lifted his head. Eyes raw. “I found the guy who drugged you. Took care of it. I’m not useless. Why won’t you look’
at me?”
Voice cracking. “I’m not a kid anymore.”
“I’m in love with you.”
Before I could process, his hand was behind my neck, pulling me down.
Kissed me.
Instinct kicked in. I shoved him.
Hard.
He hit the floor, staring up at me like I’d shot him.
Then scrambled up and ran.
…
#1
I stared at my hands.
Why did I do that?!
