Chapter 212
He rested his hand on Whitney’s belly. “No. Our baby’s gonna be very healthy.”
“Relax, baby. We’re going to Dustin’s hospital,” Klein said, trying to reassure her.
Lena nodded. “Okay.”
Early the next morning, Whitney slung her bag over her shoulder and headed out with Klein.
During the ultrasound, the doctor suddenly gasped and Whitney’s heart skipped a beat.
“Is something wrong, doctor? Is the baby’s heartbeat okay?” Whitney asked, her voice trembling.
“Everything’s fine, but I’m seeing two heartbeats here. Ms. Moore, looks like you’re having twins!” the doctor said, grin
Whitney propped herself up, eyes widened. “Wait, two? Am I really having twins?”
“Seems like it. Just lie back for a sec. Let me double-check,” the doctor replied with a playful grin.
Whitney nervously settled back down, and her brain went blank.
“Congrats, it’s indeed twins! They were too tiny to spot before, but now I can hear both heartbeats loud and clear. Not m people get this lucky, you know. Two babies in one go, and you only have to deal with labor once!” the doctor chuckled.
Whitney walked out of the exam room, her hands resting on her belly.
Klein steadied her, concern in his voice. “How was it? Is our baby healthy?”
But when he caught the strange look on her face, his heart skipped a beat. “Is something wrong with the baby?”
Whitney’s stunned expression suddenly lit up with pure joy. “Honey, I’m having twins! We’re having twins!”
Klein was just as stunned, his jaw practically hitting the floor.
“So, does this mean I get both a son and a daughter in one go?” he blurted out, still in shock.
“Come on!” Whitney playfully smacked his shoulder. “They could both be boys, or both be girls, you know.”
Klein grinned from ear to ear and swept Whitney up in his arms, spinning her around.
“Put me down, you crazy man! Don’t go spinning my babies right out of me! Whitney laughed, half-scolding, half- delighted.
“Shh, don’t jinx it! They’re not going anywhere that easily. Baby, I can’t believe it. I’m gonna be a dad, and not just any dad, but a dad of twins!” Klein laughed, overflowing with joy.
When Klein dropped the big news, the group chat instantly went silent.
No one said a word.
Dustin grumbled. [How the hell did you get so lucky? Even scored twins!]
The other two men, still childless, just ghosted the chat and played dumb.
They didn’t even want to open their eyes to read the news. Klein’s joy was just too blinding for their single lives to handle.
When they got back to Harris Manor, James was over the moon.
He couldn’t believe his ears.
piece of my mind!”
