Chapter 100 A Kill Order Interrupted

“I’m going to die… Hazel, Roxanne, I’m really going to die! Ah!”

Hazel, Roxanne, and Anya immediately rushed forward to support him. They only managed to calm Zeke down together. Fortunately, their efforts were enough to get his breathing under control.

“Zeke, you’ll be fine. We still have Evan even though we got scammed!”

“If push comes to shove, we’ll just nab Evan off the streets and force him to do a blood transfusion!”

They knew it might cause irreversible consequences, but they were willing to risk everything for Zeke’s sake. Alas, their words didn’t assuage Zeke’s panic. If anything, it only made his panic worse.

He wasn’t rattled by the scamming. Hazel and the others being fooled had nothing to do with him. However, he did care about Evan’s life. After all, his lifeline was about to be killed.

The three women stared at him in confusion. Finally, Zeke blurted for the sake of his continued survival, “Hazel, you have to save Evan! There’s no time!”

“Evan? What about him?” The sudden shift of topic left them stunned.

“I just got word that Hugo’s people are going after Evan! Hazel, you have to hurry! If you don’t go now, it’ll be too late!” Zeke spilled everything, carefully leaving out the fact that he was the one who’d hired the killers.

These foolish women were the only ones who could save Evan, the same Evan who also happened to be the only person who

could keep him alive.

“What?!” All three women shot up from their seats out of shock. They couldn’t help but feel as though problems kept popping up one after another.

Nevertheless, they couldn’t understand why Hugo’s men wanted Evan dead.

After they thought it over, they assumed that it was due to that dinner with the Goldens. Something must have happened after the place was emptied. Evan must have somehow offended Hugo and only escaped because he had been fast enough.

Unfortunately, no one could outrun trouble forever.

“Oh, come on! As if things weren’t messy enough, we now have to clean up after Evan’s mess again! Who does he think he is to provoke Mr. Wells?!” Anya yelled, furious.

“Just go! The one sent to kill Evan is Mylo Wells-Hugo’s adopted son. He’s infamous for being vicious. If you don’t hurry, it’ll

r be too late!” Zeke shouted again, frantic with fear.

“Fine!” The women immediately started reaching out to their contacts. Their plan was simple-save Evan and drag him back to donate blood for Zeke.

Hazel also called Neil just in case. He was the Solberg family’s only Master-stage fighter. He might be getting on in years, but he should be able to protect Evan from someone like Mylo.

Alas, Mylo and his men had already arrived at their destination while they were scrambling for help.

‘Boom!’

The doors of Stone’s Apothecary were blasted open. Dozens of men surged inside, instantly surrounding Evan and the others. Artemisia had never seen anything like this and immediately froze in terror. On the other hand, Evan merely frowned. “Did Hugo send you?”

“Are you Evan Norwood?” a young man in a gaudy floral shirt asked as he strode forward. The crowd automatically cleared a path for him.
