Chapter 130 The Heiresses’ Wishful Thinking
Anya, who had stepped into the yard to water the flowers, was the first to spot Evan standing at the entrance of Nine Courts. “It really is him!”
Hazel, Anya, and even Zeke looked over as well
Evan was pacing back and forth outside the gate, brows knotted, anxiety written all over his face. A sheen of cold sweat glimmered at his temples, like he was wrestling with some impossible decision.
“He already came to admit he was wrong? I thought he’d last a few more days.”
Hazel, Roxanne, and Anya all grinned with delight. In their minds, there was only one explanation for Evan showing up at this hour-to seek protection.
“He must’ve already heard that Mr. Solomon’s drakeblood gemstone was exposed as fake…”
Zeke frowned slightly. “Then, why isn’t he coming over?”
Evan lingered at the entrance, glancing around like he was waiting for someone. However, the heiresses only saw nerves. To them, it was obvious-he wanted to apologize but didn’t have the courage to lower himself.
After all, he had rebelled and resisted them in every way before.
When Zeke was gravely ill and needed blood, Evan didn’t offer a single drop. And now, at the first sign of danger, he wanted to rely on them? Life didn’t work that way, and he knew it.
That was why he was hesitating.
“Well, well. Look how nervous he is. He’s probably afraid we won’t help him, so he doesn’t dare come in,” Anya muttered.
“Serves him right,” Roxanne said coldly. “If he knew this day would come, he shouldn’t have fought us so hard. He should’ve taken the deal when we offered it-donated blood quietly and admitted his fault. We wouldn’t be ignoring him now.”
Hazel’s expression cooled. “Adults have to take responsibility for their actions. He decided to walk away from us, so when he runs into trouble, he shouldn’t come running back.”
Even so, the heiresses waited eagerly for Evan to approach them. He might hesitate now, but eventually-surely-he would have to come. The weight of Silverton’s Overlord was too great. Whatever advantage Evan once held over them had long since collapsed.
“Why isn’t he here yet? What’s taking him so long?”
A few minutes passed. Evan still paced at the gate, never once looking toward Villa No. 9.
The heiresses had no idea his anxiety had nothing to do with them.
He was trying to figure out how to intercept Sylvie before she reached the villa. They weren’t even in his thoughts. He had zera intention of seeking them out.
More time passed, and Evan still showed no sign of approaching Villa No. 9.
“He’s still not coming? How long is he planning to hold out?”
“Is his pride really that important?”
The heiresses, watching his expression closely, grew increasingly irritated. They abandoned everything else just to stare at him, waiting to see when his so-called psychological struggle would end and when he would finally come and apologize.

They’d been waiting for this ever since the day he walked out of the trospital without permission. They’d imagined him kneeling, admitting he was wrong.
This was supposed to be that moment..
