That was because the person who got out of Sylvie’s car was Estelle…
And she even looked oddly close to Sylvie-like they were sisters walking side by side.
‘Wait, no… Am I seeing things? The two of them… in the same car? Unbelievable!’ The realization confused Evan. ‘They are always at each other’s throats, aren’t they? They see each other as their biggest
rival in love! So when did they get this close?’
“Evan!”
The two women skipped over upon spotting Evan
This set off quite the reaction among the crowd.
Man or woman, everyone’s heart was pounding as they stared, stunned.
Estelle and Sylvie were both breathtaking. Landing even one of them would take insane luck. Yet, Evan had both women fawning over him.
It was almost ridiculous. He had to be drowning in luck!
“I recognize one of them. That’s Estelle, the mayor’s daughter and the most beautiful student to ever grace the halls of Sil-U!”
Someone had recognized Estelle. Phones came up at once. People were already snapping photos of the
two women.
The crowd was getting louder and louder.
It was bad enough that Evan felt the urge to run away.
But Sylvie looped her arm through his. “Evan, why are you leaving? Are you that afraid of being seen with
us?
“What’s so terrifying about that? The whole world must know when I’ve fallen in love!” Estelle winked.
He could sense that something was off about their behavior from a mile away. “You two need something, don’t you?”
With their ruse spotted, they playfully stuck out their tongues and giggled. “We just want to help, Evan We thought of a plan…”
Sylvie rattled off, listing out the plan they had concocted.
If people saw Evan shopping and dating them in public, it was basically an announcement: Evan was under their protection.
That way, Cain would be deterred due to fear.

After all, standing by Evan’s side in public was them openly declaring they’d back him-even against
Cain.
Evan’s expression tightened. “No. Absolutely not. Didn’t I tell you not to meddle? Don’t make things worse.
Cain was Evan’s obsession. He wanted to resolve it himself. Otherwise, he could have just asked Gaius to
help out.
Estelle glared. “How is that making things worse?”
Evan rolled his eyes. “This isn’t as simple as you think. You’re being way too optimistic. You could get dragged into it and get hurt.”
The possibility was quite high.
This was because the grudge was not conceived out of absolute hatred between him and Cain.
The reason there was a feud between them was Darius, the true heir of the Norwood family. He stole the drakeblood gemstone, carrying out the switch.
That was the key issue.
If that was not resolved, everything Evan did would be for nothing.
And if Cain got cornered, Sylvie and Estelle could truly get dragged into danger.
Estelle was still young. It took a lot for her to finally decide to help Evan, yet he just rejected her offer.
Her face fell. She stomped her foot and snapped, “I don’t care! We think it’ll work, so you’re going shopping with us anyway!”
‘Is she mad?’ Evan mused. He glanced at Sylvie, who loudly huffed and looked away.
And just like that, he was stuck between a rock and a hard place. This was such a headache.
‘So, that is what this is about. They just want to go shopping!’ Evan realized. He had no choice but to soften his tone. “I’m not joking. I’m trying to be responsible.”
That made their anger visibly subside a little. Still, they refused to back down.
“Once everything is over, I’ll spare a day to go shopping with you.”
“I want two-no, three days!” Estelle shot back immediately, like she was negotiating a contract.
He fell silent.
‘So now they are taking an inch and demanding a mile?’
“You won’t do it, right?” Estelle pouted. “Fine. I’m tired. I’ll sleep right here.”

She actually moved to lie down on the pavement.

Evan’s scalp went cold. He grabbed her arm and gave in at once. “Fine. Three days.”
Finally satisfied, Estelle brightened and leaned in as if she was going to kiss him. “That’s more like it!”
