Chapter 15 Evan’s Disappearance
“Dad, Mom! Evan’s room is empty! Did he move out?” Hazel’s voice trembled as she called for Stefan and Cynthia.
It wasn’t just Hazel-Roxanne and Anya stared at the bare room, their hearts sinking with a heavy thud.
Was Evan gone? Did he really leave?
All three of them felt it instinctively: this time was different. Evan’s departure wasn’t like before.
A tight, suffocating pressure gripped their chests.
Even Zeke, standing silently by the door, was stunned into speechlessness. But in the next moment, a barely noticeable, cruel smile flickered across his face.
Inside, he was ecstatic. ‘So, Evan has really left.’
His guess was right-Evan had been completely broken by the three heiresses.
And now, his plan was about to succeed. Once he found another person with the same blood type, he could finally kill Evan.
Hazel’s questions twisted Stefan and Cynthia’s insides-they wanted to answer, but couldn’t, and it made the helplessness burn
all the more. It was unbearable.
Evan had left, and yet they couldn’t tell their own daughter. His importance to the Solberg family was undeniable.
He worked hard, never complained, and had a sharp mind for business and politics.
No matter which path he chose in the future, he would be invaluable to the Solbergs.
The Norwood family had thrown him away–it was their loss.
When they had spent 150 million to save Evan’s life, it had seemed money well spent. And yet this happened, leaving them
helpless.
Seeing Zeke behind Hazel, looking sickly and smug, Stefan felt as if a thousand knives had pierced his chest.
“Dad, say something! Did Evan really move out? He actually left? Has he learned to walk away? Has he forgotten who saved his
life?”
Stefan’s silence was the answer.
Hazel’s fury exploded.
Roxanne and Anya mirrored her emotions.
None of them had yet understood the complicated tangle of feelings they held for Evan-wanting him out of their way, yet not wanting him to leave.
It was the same conflict they’d felt when Zeke had suggested getting rid of Evan, but they weren’t willing to let him go.
“I’m going to find him right now!” Hazel stormed toward the door, her anger fueling her steps.
“Stop!” Stefan shouted, catching her immediately.
Behind them, the butler Neil hesitated, clearly about to tell the truth. “Mr. Solberg, with Ms Solberg here, perhaps we should
Stefan shot him a sharp glare. “No.”
The way the two of them exchanged glances made Hazel suspicious. Something was being kept from her

wotty, sweetie.”
But the smile looked strained, barely holding back the anxiety beneath.
She had to protect Evan at all costs, No one could know he had distanced himself from the Solberg family. Otherwise, if that powerful figure found out, there would be trouble.
“Something to take care of? What could he possibly have to do?” Hazel pursed her lips skeptically.
Stefan’s temper flared. “Why can’t he have his own matters? Have you even cared about Evan lately?”
Hazel was speechless. Indeed, ever since Zeke returned, all her attention had gone to him. Evan hadn’t crossed her mind even
once.
