Chapter 186 Flashdrive

James was right. Evan had no proof. Without proof, it wouldn’t matter how well Evan told the story.

Evan let out a cold snicker. “What made you think I have no proof?”

The Norwoods inhaled sharply. A chill crawled up their spines, rattling their hearts. The triplets shot Darius disbelieving looks. The look in their eyes said, ‘We told you to wipe it out!’

Darius was stunned. He had erased it. There shouldn’t have been anything left, let alone anything Evan could produce.

Gabriel stared at Evan sharply. “Do you have proof that someone else did the crime?” At first, he didn’t trust Evan, even if the whole city’s reporters were invited. However, evidence changed that story.

“Evan has evidence of Darius’ crimes?”

“I…”

Naturally, the heiresses didn’t believe it either. They too were staring in wide-eyed disbelief. They knew Evan was framed, but nothing could prove he wasn’t.

And evidence was important to make a case. Now Evan came prepared.

Anya was breathing heavily. “If he does have evidence, that’d be a twist we never saw coming. He can turn this around!”

Hazel said nothing. She was dazed. She couldn’t believe Evan found a way out without their help this time.

All the reporters’ attention locked onto Evan. Kinsey didn’t waste time. “If you have evidence, show us. Your innocence is on the line.”

Before this, everyone thought Evan was the criminal. Gabriel came after his head.

“If you can’t show them any evidence, or if it’s faked, you’re done for, you bastard!” The Norwoods were glaring at Evan like they wanted to slice him up.

Evan fished out a petite flash drive and showed it to everyone. The estate fell into a moment of silence as everyone’s gaze was glued to that flash drive. The Norwoods’ eyes were the size of saucepans.

Evan wasn’t lying.

“No… that’s impossible!” Darius shrieked, face draining so pale it looked bloodless. “It’s fake! It has to be fake!” He knew he’d wiped everything-so where did Evan get that drive?

Alice dragged the hysterical Darius aside and pushed her panic down. “I demand verification!”

Kinsey immediately thrust her mic forward. “May we check the drive, Mr. Norwood?”

“Of course,” Evan replied, calm as still water.

Gabriel glanced at his entourage. “Check the drive.”

“Yes, sir.” Alongside the martial guards, Gabriel had brought technicians. They stepped forward and took the drive for verification.

Tension hung heavy in the air, as if it were palpable, suffocating. None were more nervous than the Norwoods and the heiresses. One prayed that the evidence was real, the other side prayed it was not.

Kinsey shifted her camera toward Evan, clearly preparing to stream the moment live.

Then, somewhere in the crowd, someone laughed in sudden recognition. “Hey, look! That’s Evan!”
