Chapter 201 Evan’s Bloodlust

Evan wouldn’t have bothered going after Cain if Cain had left him out of it once his innocence was proven. Alas, that fool wanted to shackle him to the Solbergs for life. His actions had made it so that his name was on top of Evan’s hit list.
That was because Hazel had stupidly assumed she now had power over Evan because of his threat.
Evan knew a lot of people were tailing him. Gabriel’s men and the Norwoods. So, he also knew that they would make a move against him once they found out he’d left the Solbergs or divorced Haze. A sneer twisted Evan’s lips. He ignored the stalkers.
“Sure, tail me. The divorce is happening in a week anyway.”
The heiresses came back to Nine Courts. They told Zeke about their encounter, and it still filled them with satisfaction.
“Did you see his face when you stepped on the gas and splashed him all over with mud? He was stunned!”
The heiresses wouldn’t stop talking about that moment. It still tickled their hearts, and they laughed. They thought, ‘That’s what you get for making us mad! You’ll have no choice but to come running to us with your tail between your legs even after we’ve humiliated you!‘
They were so sure that Evan would apologize. Cain had stepped in, so Evan must apologize. He’d never have the guts to leave the Solbergs, not when he’d seen how the Norwoods perished. The apology was his only way out. That way, Zeke would have his blood bank.
“Yes!” Hazel roared, venting the frustration she’d felt for too long.
“Hugo’s a visionary.” Anya sighed. “He knew Cain would go after the Norwoods and everyone related to them, so he came to us and asked my father to slap him. Sure, it was humiliating, but it also killed all the risk. Most people wouldn’t have his courage.”
Hazel smiled. “That’s why he’s the king of the underworld. He needs to see 10 steps ahead to get that far.
That also meant all the bluebloods feared Cain. If Evan were to leave them, Cain would absolutely go after him. It was a promise.
“The grace period is ending in a week. What will you do, Evan?” The heiresses weren’t in a hurry. They thought Evan should be the one panicking.
Just then, Hazel got a call from her parents.
“Where are you, Hazel? We need to talk to you.”
Stefan and Cynthia wanted to talk about Evan. Hazel had a feeling they might. “I’ll come back right away.”

Hazel came home, and Stefan told her to drop the divorce application. Hazel froze. “Why are you guys in a hurry? Evan’s the one who should panic, not me!”
Once the grace period was over, the divorce would go into effect, and Evan must go through with the process whether he liked it or not.
“No, you can’t get a divorce!”
“Yeah, drop it right now!”
Stefan and Cynthia were worried. Hazel noticed her parents‘ unusual concern, and she was sharp enough to know something was off.
“You’re not hiding something, are you? You’re in way too much of a hurry.”
“No, of course not!” Stefan and Cynthia quickly calmed themselves now. They couldn’t talk about the estrangement, or Evan was done for. So, they tried to act normal.
Cynthia stared at her daughter. “You guys have been married for quite a while, but you’ve never made any real progress. And you’re at that age already. I’m worried about you.”
That came out of nowhere. Hazel’s face fell, and her gut told her nothing good was going to come out of her parents‘ mouths.
