Hazel took a deep breath before making her stance clear. “Roxanne, I understand what you mean. If you want me to throw Evan a little sweetness first, fine. But apologizing to him and personally canceling the divorce application? Absolutely not.

“That’s a matter of principle. Besides, leaving Evan there to chase after Zeke wasn’t entirely wrong. If it happened again, I’d

make the same choice.”

Roxanne immediately felt a headache coming on.

‘Hazel refuses to swallow her pride… What am I supposed to do now? We can’t possibly ask Evan, the victim in all this, to apologize, can we? What kind of twisted logic would that be?’

“But Hazel, think about your situation right now,” she said seriously. “You’ve hurt Evan; you can’t face your parents; and in the public eye across Silverton, you can’t even hold your head high anymore. If things get worse, what about Zeke’s blood

transfusions in the future?”

Hazel went completely still.

Her current situation really was a disaster-she had managed to offend every side at once.

Roxanne took another deep breath before adding, “The only way to solve everything perfectly is the plan I mentioned. You’ll have an explanation for Zeke; the crisis with Evan will be resolved; and you’ll have something to say to your parents too.

“Most importantly, even if you revoke the divorce application, you and Evan can still live the same way you did before. It doesn’t

mean you actually have to start a family together.”

That part made Hazel feel a little more willing to consider it.

“And if you’re still worried about your pride,” Roxanne continued, fully stepping into the role of strategist, “you don’t even have to call Evan. You can quietly revoke the divorce application yourself.”

Hazel rejected the idea immediately. “That’s even worse. If I secretly cancel it, that means I’ve truly bowed my head. Evan would laugh at me for it. If anything, it’d be better if we went together to cancel it…”

She looked at Roxanne. “Fine. We’ll do it your way.”

And they had to act quickly. The Solomon family was watching, and the whole city already knew what had happened.

Inside the presidential suite where Gabriel was temporarily staying, he had invited an important guest-the mayor of Silverton.

After what had happened at the Solberg family banquet, Gabriel was almost certain that Hazel and Evan would go through with the divorce.

Sean simply smiled. “Gabriel, do whatever you want. I’m just a small-time mayor-I can’t control much.”

The only reason he couldn’t control it was that too many powerful figures stood behind Evan. Compared to them, even a mayor like him was insignificant. But Gabriel misunderstood completely

His eyes lit up. “Oh?”

He assumed Sean was simply being pragmatic-recognizing that when the Solomon family made a move, no one could stop

them.

“Hmm? What’s that?” Gabriel blinked.

“Nothing.”

Sean had originally wanted to advise him: once the matter of the drakeblood gemstone was settled, he should hurry back to the state capital. But since Gabriel was here on Cain’s behalf, he decided not to say it.

All he could do was wish the young man luck.

“Father, the mayor came by earlier. He won’t interfere with this matter.”

After Sean left, Gabriel immediately called Cain.

“Not only that,” Gabriel added with a chuckle, “his reaction was strange. He almost seemed worried about me. Do I look like someone who needs to worry? The ones who should be worried are the Solbergs and Evan.”

Meanwhile, Hazel-who had been worried about retaliation from the Solomon family-hurried back home.

Stefan and Cynthia scolded her mercilessly. In the end, Stefan gave a firm order: no matter what, they had to reverse the negative public opinion surrounding the family.

The rumors circulating through their social circle had already caused huge trouble for both the Solberg family and Hazel. In the end, everything still had to be resolved through Evan.

Under pressure from all sides, Hazel finally contacted him. “Where are you right now?” she asked. “I’m waiting for you at the courthouse entrance.”
