Chapter 255 A Storm of Brides

The one thing Evan least wanted to see had finally happened.

All these women had been waiting for his divorce, just so they could fight over marrying him.

It was insane.

The sheer sight of it made Evan’s hair stand on end.

He didn’t recognize many of them. If anything, he had only briefly met some of them back when he was still the Solberg family’s adopted son. So, they were mere acquaintances at best.

Yet, every single one of them was charging at him like a pack of starving wolves.

Evan simply couldn’t handle a situation like this.

He already felt overwhelmed when Sylvie, Aria, and Victor brought their people over to stake their claim on him.

But now? This was a hundred times worse.

To make matters worse, he had nowhere to run because there were just too many people.

They were everywhere and closing in on him from all directions.

He felt like one of the sardines in a packed can. It didn’t matter which way he turned as beautiful faces were there, looking at him with excitement and adoration.

It was unbelievable.

He had planned to head to Leighton Estate right after the divorce to repay a debt of gratitude. At this rate, he wasn’t going anywhere.

Soon, the girls swarmed in and surrounded him completely. They eagerly introduced themselves, one after another.

And that created a strange scene. The girls in front did their best to show off their most beautiful sides. Meanwhile, the ones who’d gotten the shorter end of the stick became desperate and impatient as they shoved themselves forward in an attempt to get closer.

It was pure chaos.

Evan felt a headache coming on.

Every single one of them was stunning and dressed in pure white/wedding gowns. It had the unfortunate result of making them seem no different from the others. Suffice it to say, Evan was so done.

Before he could deal with the first wave, a second wave arrived. Jememiah, Ginevra, and Serena stepped forward.

“Mr. Norwood, you may not know us, but we’ve heard so much about you!”

“I’m Jememiah Gaunt, Raymond Gaunt’s daughter!”

“I’m Ginevra Summerton, Arthur Summerton’s daughter!”

“And I’m Serena Chancler, Theodore Chancler’s daughter!”

The three of them pursued him openly and confidently.

“Back off! I haven’t even spoken yet!”

Alas, they were shoved aside in the very next second by Estelle herself.

She might have been intimidated by Sylvie, but did she need to fear these three?

Then, she flashed Evan a radiant smile after shoving Jeremiah and the other girls away.

“Evan, you promised that I could pursue you once you got divorced!”

Estelle was clever.

After her earlier conversation with Sylvie, she already had a hunch that Evan might not choose anyone at all.

So, she chose to ask for a chance to pursue him instead of asking him to marry her outright.

Surely, he couldn’t refuse that, right?

Just as she expected, Evan hesitated. For once, he didn’t reject her like he had the others.

The overjoyed Estelle leaned in and kissed him.

The scene was so chaotic that he was completely caught off guard. Thus, she actually succeeded. The entire crowd exploded right then and there.

en syve, who had been calmly standing at a distance, froze in shock.

She hadn’t expected Estelle to be so bold and actually go in for a kiss.

Her anger flared.

Moments later, Evan saw a fiery red figure striding toward him, radiating fury.

That striking red stood out like a blazing flame amid a sea of white.

Evan’s eyes lit up for a split second. However, his expression changed when he realized it was Sylvie.

He instinctively wiped the lipstick mark off his left cheek.

“Uh… Sylvie, it’s not what it looks like…” He tried to explain, but Sylvie had already closed in on him.

She grabbed his face and pressed her lips against his.

“Mmph-” Evan’s eyes widened instantly.

The instigator, Estelle, had been smiling smugly just moments ago. Now, her smile vanished at the sight of Sylvie’s bold move.

As for Jememiah, Ginevra, and Serena… Well, they had completely lost it.
