Chapter 265 It’s Real

They couldn’t believe Evan actually had the drug, and there were two of them!

“I’m not seeing double, am I?”

“Someone slap me! I have to be dreaming!”

Everyone was breathing heavily, their bodies drenched in sweat. Some nearly fainted. Some actually fainted from disbelief.

Wendy and the people who mocked Evan were grinding their teeth. They were staring at the life-saving drugs, dazed. Two of them. Impossible. They made a life-saving drug sound like something out of a fantasy because they thought Evan could never produce one.

Then, he proved them wrong. Heck, he proved them wrong twice. Impossible.

“I told you I was giving it back, but none of you believed me. Now that it’s right in front of you, you look like you’ve seen a ghost.” Evan scoffed, his face a mask of disdain. Yes, these people were ignorant hicks to him.

Life-saving drugs were precious, but they were nothing to Evan. Once he leveled up more with his Ninefold Arcane Arts, he could make drugs that were more invaluable than this.

“It might be fake,” Sadie said. That snapped everyone out of it.

“Yeah! He could be using fakes!”

“Life-saving drugs are rare! It’s not something you can buy at a dollar store!”

“Not even Imperia’s bluebloods have a pair of that drug!”

The Leightons were a family that established themselves in medicine. They knew the market. However, the truth was stranger than the fiction they could concoct. They couldn’t believe it.

Thaddeus ordered, “Get Mr. Hereward to verify this!”

Hereward Leighton was the Leightons’ top medicine expert. He could verify this drug easily.

Hereward took out his spectacles and observed the drug closely. Everyone fell silent. Not a single soul made a sound. Everyone’s hearts, however, were thundering against their chests.

They were nervous. None wanted this to be true. That’d destroy everything they thought they knew. A precious drug, presented by a broke loser? That wasn’t normal at all.

And if they were true, how’d Evan get his hands on it? Did he make them himself, or did someone else give those to him? Both answers presented horrifying possibilities.

Wendy felt goosebumps undulating across her body. Her eyes were glued to Hereward, her heart nearly jumping out of her throat.

Just then, Hereward gasped. “My God!” Even his spectacles slid off his nose. His body was shivering, as if he’d just seen something magnificent.

“L…” The Leightons were shocked. Anything that got Hereward reacting so much couldn’t be common.

“Is it something special?” Thaddeus asked carefully, holding his breath.

The excited Hereward exclaimed, “It’s not just special! It’s a celebration, sir! The family will rise once more! A meteoric rise, I daresay!”

That answered their question. The drugs were the real deal. One was enough to make the Leightons the leader of Silverton’s pharmaceutical industry. With two, they could turn the tables and rise to even higher heights in medicine.

Perhaps they could get the attention of medical factions in Imperia, Uppersea, or Centralis. They might even beg the Leightons for favors.
