Chapter 307 Echoes in the Blood Word
Chapter 307 Echoes in the Blood Ward
The next day, Hazel arrived at the hospital with Roxanne and Anya by her side.
Standing at the entrance, watching the steady stream of people coming and going, the three heiresses all felt a strange sense of distance, like stepping into a place from another lifetime.
It hadn’t been that long since they were last here, so why did it feel like ages?
What they didn’t realize was that the hospital had only ever felt familiar because every visit had been about one thing-bringing Evan in for blood transfusions.
Now that Evan was gone, no longer giving blood to Zeke, they had no real reason to come back.
“Ms. Solberg, you’re here?”
“Good morning, Ms. Solberg!”
“Ms. Solberg, it’s been a while since we last saw you!”
It was the morning rush, and staff members greeted them one after another as they passed.
But the looks in their eyes-curious, almost as if they were staring at something strange-only made Hazel’s already heavy chest tighten further.
She let out a slow breath, forcing herself to calm down before stepping inside.
None of them noticed the sharp, watchful gaze fixed on their backs.
A man followed closely behind them into the hospital.
They were supposed to head to the psychiatry department. But as if pulled by something unseen, the three of them somehow ended up at the blood transfusion department instead.
“Wrong floor, Hazel. This is the transfusion ward…” Anya was the first to snap out of it and point it out.
After they had brought Evan here so many times, their bodies remembered the way even when their minds didn’t.
“What?” Hazel blinked, startled, suddenly realizing their mistake.
This was the blood transfusion department.
“Hazel, what’s going on with you today? You seem completely out of it,” Roxanne said, frowning at her.
Zeke’s unpredictable temper had shaken all of them, but not like this. Not to this extent.
How could Hazel even lose her bearings in her own hospital?
“Let’s go downstairs.”
Anya reached for the elevator button, but Hazel stopped her
“We’re already here… Let’s look around for a bit.”
Something deep inside her- an unexplainable urge-made her want to stay.
Roxanne and Anya exchanged a glance, then followed.
As they walked, an uneasy feeling crept into all three of their hearts.

What they saw with their eyes no longer matched what surfaced in their minds.
The patients were passing by, yet what they saw was themselves dragging Evan into the transfusion room agai his will.
A nurse inserted an IV into someone’s arm, but in their minds it became a thick, brutal needle being driven inte
Evan’s veins.
The cry of a child twisted into Evan’s hysterical screams in their ears.
In the ward, family members sat beside patients, but what they saw instead was Evan’s empty room-no one b his side-only the cold, mechanical beeping of machines.
Then, in the next room, they saw themselves gathered around Zeke, feeding him fruit, smiling warmly.
From time to time, he told a joke, making the three of them laugh like carefree girls.
