Chapter 308 The Truth Beneath the Needle
At Hazel’s words, Roxanne and Anya fell silent. Both of them instinctively looked away.
After a moment, they nodded.
“Yeah.”
They had felt it too. There was something about this hospital-something almost unnatural. No matter where they went, it all led back to Evan.
Memory didn’t lie.
Everything a person had lived through would return, reshaped and replayed right before their eyes.
Hazel felt like she was losing her mind.
An indescribable emotion swelled in her chest, heavy and suffocating.
Before they knew it, they had wandered into the transfusion room. All three of them wore complicated expressions.
This was the place where they had forced Evan, again and again, to give blood to Zeke.
“Hey, did you hear? Ms. Solberg came to the hospital today.”
“Yeah. But what’s she here for? It’s not like there’ll be any blood transfusion anymore…”
Inside, two nurses who had arrived early were chatting casually.
The three heiresses recognized her instantly. One of them was the nurse who had always drawn Evan’s blood. She was skilled and precise.
The three of them stayed quiet, listening.
“Why wouldn’t there be any blood transfusion anymore?” the other nurse asked, surprised.
“Because Ms. Solberg and Mr. Norwood got divorced.”
“What? Divorced? Seriously?”
“Of course it’s true.” The nurse’s tone turned sharp with frustration, “After having that much blood taken from him… wouldn’t you leave too, if you were him?”
Then she let out a sigh.
“But honestly… Ms. Solberg was a fool. She let a man like that slip away.”
She spoke as an outsider, unaware of the full story.
But to her, one thing was clear. Evan was willing to give blood a hundred times for Hazel. That kind of love wasn’t something a man could fake.
Too bad it was all in the past now.
Anya’s face flushed with anger. “What do they even know?”
She stepped forward, ready to barge in and shut them up, but Hazel stopped her.

Even though every word twisted in her chest like a knife, she still wanted to hear it.
The other nurse looked stunned. She hesitated, then asked quietly, “Be honest with me… Was it really like the rumors say? That many times?”
The story had already spread throughout the entire hospital. Some said dozens of times. Others claimed over a hundred.
There were even whispers that Evan hadn’t come back because he’d been drained dry-bled to death.
Rumors piled on rumors, each more extreme than the last.
For a moment, the air seemed to freeze.
Even the nurse who had drawn Evan’s blood fell silent, her expression shifting.
And outside the door, Hazel and the others held their breath without realizing it.
Hazel’s heartbeat pounded wildly, as if it might burst out of her chest. None of them knew why they were so tens
It felt as if the truth was right in front of them-just one step away. As if all it would take was reaching out and tearing through a thin veil, and everything would be exposed.
The nurse who had drawn Evan’s blood fell silent. Her expression conflicted. Then she let out a quiet sigh.
