Chapter 64 Scrom

Chapter 64 Scram

Evan heard the whole exchange thanks to his Ninefold Arcane Arts. The sheer audacity of it made his eyes turn cold.

They found out he saved the Iron Dragon, so they thought they could make him save Zeke too? As if.

He thought, ‘Zeke could drop dead right now, and I couldn’t even care less.’

Ivana asked calmly, “Is that all? You just want them gone?”

Evan mused over it for a moment. He said, “That, and tell them no one is allowed to treat Zeke.”

With a single sentence, Evan ensured Zeke was blacklisted by the medical world. He wouldn’t save him, and neither would anyone else. Even if they wanted to, they couldn’t.

Ivana left with a smile.

The villa’s soundproofing was great, but the ladies could hear vague sounds if they tried. They were shocked. “She has someone around, and it’s a guy!”

That instantly reminded them of the secret-lover rumors. The atmosphere turned strange.

But then Anya’s face fell. She muttered, “And it sounded like Evan.”

Graham said quietly, “See? I told you! Her secret lover sounds just like Evan.”

“Let me listen!” Roxanne pushed everything out and listened quietly. “Whoa, he really does sound like Evan. For a second, I almost thought it was him.” She smiled. “But that’s impossible. Evan could never be half the man that guy is.”

The three instinctively rejected the idea. That guy was Ivana’s lover, after all. Even if it was a fling, he was still far beyond Evan’s reach.

Moments later, Ivana came back down the stairs. The group fell silent at once.

A worried Hazel quickly asked, “How’d it go, Ms. Stanton? Is he going to help?”

“He won’t,” Ivana replied plainly.

The words hit like a thunderclap.

Panicked, Anya blurted, “What? But you’re the queen of finance!”

Ivana was grinning. “And what made you think that would make him say yes? People like him don’t care about status. He helps when he feels like it. He refuses when he doesn’t. You could offer him the entire world-and he still wouldn’t blink.”

She added, “I’m very sorry to inform you of this, but he doesn’t like any of you. At all.”

The verdict crashed down on them like a meteor.

‘That can’t be!’ they thought. ‘He refused us just because he doesn’t like us at all? But how’d we even cross him? We’ve never seen him before!”

The ladies snapped out of it. Hazel pleaded, “This must be a misunderstanding, Ms. Stanton. We’ve never seen the doctor. How’d we even make him mad? Someone’s life is at stake here! Please, talk to

him!”

Ivana answered tartly, “There is no misunderstanding. He dislikes you ladies down to his very core. And not only will he refuse to treat your friend, but he has forbidden anyone else from doing so as well. You’re on your own.”
