Sorry Too Late (by J.J. Twelve) novel Chapter 82

Chapter 82 A Future Unfolding

Evan didn’t refuse. After all, he did require an extra pair of hands in the future.

“Thank you, Mr. Norwood!” Both Caleb and Artemisia were over the moon.

After they left Villa No. 1, he could no longer contain his excitement as he started laughing in joy.

“Hahaha! Our family will soar to greater heights in the future! Artemisia, you might just become a nationally renowned physician one day!”

He patted Artemisia’s shoulder, his control over his strength faltering due to his joy.

He had been the best the Stone family had to offer. Yet, he was merely the city’s top doctor, and that had been the furthest they could go. However, things were about to change, and for the better.

Artemisia had become Evan’s apprentice, which meant that the sky was now the limit.

“Still, there’s one thing you need to keep in mind. You have to stay away from Hazel and the others. They’ll definitely be obstacles on your path to success!”

Caleb’s tone suddenly turned serious as he recalled something important.

Artemisia, who had been holding the full prescription in her hands, was still dazed with joy when she heard that.

She was startled. After a beat, she said, “Dad, I know Roxanne and the others messed up at the banquet, but they can’t possibly be obstacles, could they?”

Her bond with Roxanne was still strong.

“You don’t believe me? Fine, then. You’ll figure it out soon enough!

Caleb realized some lessons couldn’t be taught. Sometimes, one had to learn by trial and fire. It didn’t matter what he said and how many times he said it, as no amount of advice he gave would make a difference to Artemisia.

Just then, Artemisia’s phone rang. It was Roxanne.

“Artemisia, did you meet the miracle doctor? Please come over if you have! Zeke is really sick. He keeps vomiting blood.” Roxanne urged, sounding worried.

Artemisia instinctively shot a glance at Caleb, who had rolled his eyes the second he heard Roxanne’s voice. It was his silent way of saying that she was on her own.

“I’ll be there soon. I also have a few questions for you.” She wanted to understand the real relationship between Evan and Hazel.

“Why? Why have you come back empty-handed? Hasn’t Evan given me a transfusion yet? And where is my donor? Haven’t you found him yet?”

Artemisia heard hysterical screams coming from Villa No. 9 before she even stepped inside.

Zeke, who was truly terrified this time around, was behaving nothing like his usual gentle self. Instead, he roared at Hazel and Roxanne. He was now akin to a feral beast with no sense of logic to his actions.

Hazel and Roxanne scrambled, trying desperately to calm him. They kept assuring him that the miracle doctor was on the way.

Artemisia stood frozen at the door, staring in disbelief.

She couldn’t believe that the man, who couldn’t even control his own emotions, was the one the three heiresses truly loved. How could he even hold a candle to Evan?
