Damon turned back to Ellora. "Take care of all their needs and get the alchemists and poison masters to work with Arya. Do you understand?"
Ellora nodded immediately. "Understood, my Lord."
"And I want a full report of what they have already figured out. Also get me some samples of the soul poison they have brewed. See if they can make more of it and different kinds of the same poison."
Ellora did not understand the purpose. Nevertheless she took the job with full seriousness.
Damon gave her a few more instructions and watched her leave, her full behind swaying sinfully with her every step. Usually he would have enjoyed the view but, right now his mind was somewhere else.
He might not have grasped the elusive thought that tugged at him during the battle. However, he did manage to think of something else. Something else that could actually solve the big glaring weakness he had currently.
His soul!
What if he used a poison to make his soul stronger?
To someone else, such a thought might sound utterly ridiculous. It was madness to try and make something stronger with poison but Damon knew he had the ability to do that.
Healing and destroying were two sides of the same coin when it came to the arts of poison. He might not have much knowledge or experience when it came to these things but he could still see the potential in such an idea.
To do something like this, he would need lots and lots of time and patience to comb through millions and millions of poison and understand their nature at their very fundamental level.
Coupled with the fact that he now had a soul sea in which he could use his mini avatar to do some serious training or some analysis, there was no reason why he couldn’t accomplish this.
Just the thought of it made his pulse quicken, not with fear, but with hunger. This was exactly the kind of insane path only he could walk.
And if it worked? He wouldn’t just patch a weakness. He would turn it into a weapon no one else in the world possessed.
Damon licked his fangs in anticipation as the idea fully bloomed. A soul forged through poison. He loved it. He would bring this madness to fruition one way or the other!
Damon quickly did a mental calculation of everything he needed. A catalog of poisons, dissected down to their very roots. A stable environment inside his soul sea, strong enough to withstand constant stress.
A method to break each poison into its purest concept, decay, dissolution, corrosion, paralysis, spiritual interference and then rebuild it into a strengthening pattern. He would need lots and lots of knowledge and experience on the path of poison.
Just like he thought, the two poison masters exchanged glances and then shook their heads. They clearly had no idea about any elves. But surprisingly, Xira seemed to be aware of what was going on.
"Master, the elves?" She chuckled lightly. "Why do you ask about those poor bastards? Not many people know this, but those elves are basically dead meat. Lambs waiting for their slaughter."
"What do you mean?"
Xira explained. "They crossed one of our orders many decades back, and ever since then, they have holed themselves in some part of the desert, hiding like rats somewhere."
Damon’s eyes widened. Now this he did not expect. "Oh? Which order did they cross?" He couldn’t understand who was so terrifying that they were able to make an entire elven kingdom hide and live like fugitives in the sands.
"The Umbra’s Hand, master." Xira replied with a bitter smile on her face. "I do not want to admit this, but they are the strongest among us, desert clans. Even though on the surface, all of us have an equal standing, the Hand is the one no one provokes."
"And the elves crossed them how?" Damon asked.
"I do not know all the details but they refused some sort of a deal. It involves an artifact."
