Damon grinned. His luck attribute was working overtime. He had not only managed to locate one of the big shots, but he even managed to make them his Blood Thrall successfully.

Of course, this wouldn’t have been possible if he had not Blood Marked them from before. But still, there was always a factor of luck involved. Even the best laid plans sometimes go to waste because of circumstances.

Viola straightened slowly, wiping the blood from her nose with the back of her hand. Her expression was as sharp and composed as ever, but she unexpectedly turned to look at Damon instead of examining the results of the ritual.

Before anyone could notice that something was amiss, Damon quickly cleared his throat and spoke in the best flirty way possible. "Hey babe, how about we have that chat now? You seem to be done with things here?"

Viola nodded and then, without a word, stood up to follow Damon. Thankfully, it looked like the others knew exactly what to do, so it did not seem weird when she abruptly left with him. She was still clutching an amulet in her hand, which was probably the trinket from the ritual.

Damon cleared his throat. "Just follow me for now."

The two of them quickly moved away to another location, which seemed quite deserted. There were some mobs around, but none dared to come near the two.

"So let’s see... how does this work..." Damon’s first thought was to reveal himself and test if the mind control broke, but he decided to take things slow, one step at a time. Best to at least milk some things out of her in case shit hits the fan.

"Ummm... let’s start with the golden throne event... what do you know about it? You got any insider tips?"

Viola nodded. There was no snarky comment, no backtalk, no rude gesture. She started answering directly.

"Abnormal how?"
