Chapter 710: Use me

Alzara’s blush deepened, spreading from her cheeks down her neck. She tried to glare at him, but the effect was ruined by the way her bottom lip trembled slightly. "To my... my will," she finally managed. "I am a powerful enchantress, and I am going to make you a slave to my will."

Damon’s grin widened. "Is that so?" He shifted beneath her, and Alzara gasped as she felt the hard ridge of his arousal press firmly against her core. The thin fabric of their clothes did little to dull the sensation.

"A slave, you say? That sounds... wonderful. But you will have to be a very, very persuasive enchantress, my dear. You cannot win that easily."

"I can be and I will win," Alzara breathed, her hands sliding from his shoulders to tangle in the hair at the nape of his neck. "You have no idea." Her eyes shone with lust and her voluptuous chest rose up and fell.

Damon’s hands, which had been resting casually on her waist, slid upward. His palms were warm, tracing the line of her ribs until they came to rest just beneath the swell of her breasts. He felt the frantic, fluttering beat of her heart against his fingertips.

"Before we take this further, there is one more thing I need to talk to you about. Though everything I told you just now is one hundred percent true, I didn’t come here today to claim you. That just happened."

Alzara’s face changed immediately, panic appearing in her eyes.

Damon caught it instantly.

He shifted, bringing one hand up to cup her cheek, thumb brushing gently along her jaw. "Hey. Listen to me," he said quietly. "This isn’t me pulling away."

She swallowed. "...Then what is it?"

"It’s timing," he answered honestly. "Bad timing."

"Don’t misunderstand me. I would have done this sooner or later without a doubt. The plan was always to take you as mine. There is no change in that but I rushed here today for something else."

Damon then explained about the special event and the fact that he needed to temporarily amass a bunch of territories.

Her brows knit together. "That sounds...ridiculous honestly. How are your enemies able to do something like this? It’s simply impossible. The light faction kingdoms are not to be underestimated, especially the old foggies. Those kings would never give up their power even in their graves. How did they manage to wrangle it out of them?"

Alzara did not question him more about the event itself. She seemed to have conveniently forgotten about that just like how she forgot when Damon mentioned that they were both from different worlds.
