My insides reeled hard as those words reechoed through my mind. I felt myself bristle even despite the amount of heat flooding my insides right now. The look in his eyes right now showed that he wasn’t joking at all.

“Your son? Now you’ll threaten to take him away from me? My own son whom I raised for years by myself?” I asked in a shaky voice as I stared up at him while so much hatred and anger curled in my chest. I couldn’t believe he really just threatened to let me not leave with Kai.

“That wouldn’t have happened if you had contacted me, would it? But you didn’t. And why is that? It’s because you were guilty of theft and feared that you’ll be locked up.” He pointed out, a brow arched as he stared down at me. I opened my mouth but no sound came out. My entire inside was reeling hard as what he just said was echoing through me.

“I didn’t stay away just because of that! I am not guilty for what you keep accusing me of! I stayed away because of something else” I cried out while my heart pounded hard.

“And what is that?” He sneered.

“Cause you were in love with someone else who you were engaged to!” I pointed out while my chest heaved hard. His eyes widened a little as he stared down at me and I tried to look away, but his grip on my chin didn’t let that happen.

That was why I also stayed away.

“What?” He asked, looking confused and I let out a small breath, my lips pursed as I spoke.

“You told me that yourself. Have you forgotten?” I asked, cause I haven’t forgotten that night in the garden at all. It haunted my dreams for years, that night where he confirmed what his father revealed over dinner, that he was truly getting married and that he was in love with the woman.

He pursed his lips after that before he abruptly let go of me and stepped back, then he dragged his fingers through his hair as he turned away from me, showing me his back. As that thought went through my insides, I quickly reminded myself that it was none of my concern and that I couldn’t care less of anything that might have happened to him. What I was concerned about was the threat he just leveled me with, and at once, after resurfaced in my mind.

“You can’t take my son away from me, Zoren,” I began in a calm but slightly wavering voice, ’cause even with him backing me, he was still imposing. “I came here to get him help, not for him to be taken from me. You can’ t do that, I’ll never let you do it.” I bit out while breathing hard.

After that, he faced me again and I gulped as he began to speak.

“I’m not taking him from you, you can relax now.” He uttered but I still couldn’t relax, cause not only did I not believe him, I was also too nervous of his presence to relax until he leaves.

“And that wasn’t a threat. He needs help now, my help specifically, so you can’t take him with you to go see your… boyfriend just because you want some dick, cause that could interfere with his treatments.” He pointed out in a low, calm voice which surprised me to the brim. My face flushed at the crass part of his sentence and I ducked my head while exhaling slowly, feeling grateful that he had least taken his time to explain what he

meant.

“I- okay, I understand you now.” I mumbled while my cheeks still felt like they were on fire.

“Good.” He affirmed before adding. “And you can’t speak to me anyhow. You need to always remember that I’m Successfully unlocked!

I pursed my lips as I nodded stiffly.

Fucking asshole.

“Is your woman gonna keep disturbing us?” I asked after a few moments.

“Cause if I had been asleep when she came in here, who knows what she’d have done to my son,” I bit out and Zoren rolled his eyes as he folded his bulging arms and my eyes strayed towards them before I could stop myself. A lump settled in my throat which I instantly swallowed down.

“I already said Erica can’t harm him. Erica can’t hurt a fly.” He drawled and I bristled, feeling angry that he couldn’t see Erica like truly Is, but it’s my first day here and I can already see what she truly is. He can believe that she can’t hurt a fly but he can’t believe that I didht steal from his father five years ago.

“Maybe you just don’t know her well.” I mumbled and he snorted.

“I’ve been with her for years, I know her just fine and I can assure you that she isn’t a little thief like someone we both know.” He pointed out and I felt my face flush while the anger within me multiplied.

“Anyways, I’m gonna talk to her. She won’t come in here again.” He announced and I nodded stiffly, wondering if he’d be leaving now so I’d be able to breathe properly again.

“Why did you give us this room though?” I asked hesitantly cause I’ve been dying to know that, cause this room is clearly for him. In the closet, I found a lot of clothes that smelt strongly like his cologne.

“You’re asking too much questions.” He responded and I sighed.

Of course he wasn’t gonna tell me. Typical of him.

“I- if I ever break any rule of yours, how will I be punished?” I asked, my hands clutching the hem of my top. He arched a brow at me and my cheeks grew warm, right before he spoke.

“Can’t wait to find out, huh?”

Those words instantly made me remember a memory from five years ago, whereby I disobeyed him on purpose and attended a club. He had punished me right after, by fucking me and taking my virginity. My face flushed deeply as those thoughts ran through my mind and I was quick to put a lid over those thoughts while my stupid heart continued to pound away.

“I was just… curious.” I finally mumbled, my voice unusually thick.

“Break a rule and then you’ll find out.” He tell me and I gulped at the intense look in his eyes again.
