Zoren
I felt irritation started to brew within me as I turned to face her, my lips in a thin line as I spoke. “Since when do you start to question me, Erica?”
She briefly blanched before sliding off the bed, the sheets wrapped around her as she walked towards me, coming to stand right in front of me, her hands settling on my chest as she spoke. “I- I’m not questioning you, Zoren. I’ll never do that. I’m just… just curious and confused, that’s all.”
My eyes narrowed at her as I pushed her hands off my chest, cage weirdly, that made the pain suddenly spike up just as I spoke. “So that’s why you disobeyed me and still went to the ivory room?”
Her face blanched again. “I was too curious, I’m sorry.” She mumbled, head ducked and I let out a sound of irritation. I really hate it when I give out a simple order and it doesn’t end up getting followed.
“That’s not an excuse, Erica and you know it.” I pointed out and she nodded in agreement.
“I know, and I’m truly sorry. The maids thankfully already patched my face which that woman scratched just because I went to welcome her.” She sighed out and my eyes darted to the side of her face. There were no marks there anymore, clearly because her wolf genes had fully healed it up. That’s the thing about having pure alpha blood, everything is enhanced for you, including the gift of healing every werewolf has.
“She’s just protective of her kid, which is normal. Don’t go rattling her either on moving forward.” I pointed out as my mind briefly wandered to Ciara. As an image of her face flashed across my mind, I let out a low breath and quietly pushed it to the back of my mind.
“Of course, baby. But who is she? You sound like she’s gonna be spending some time here?” Erica was still staring up at me as she spoke, and I sighed again. Well, I guess I better just let the cat out of the bag now instead of dragging it out.
“That woman is from my past.” I revealed and her eyes widened before her hands slapped over her mouth as she stared up at me.
“That woman is the woman you marked in the past?!” She cried out in shock while blinking a little, then a laugh bubbled up her throat. “That ugly woman?”
My eyes instantly narrowed as displeasure settled in my chest from her last two words, then I barked out before I could stop myself. “Don’t call her that.”
Erica’s eyes widened just as I continued, frowning. “Since when do you talk about people like that?”
She ducked her head and sighed. “I’m sorry, I just said it as I saw it.”
I shook my head firmly. “Just don’t call her that again, understood?”
She nodded then I continued. “And yes, she is the woman I marked in the past. I looked for her for five years.”
Her eyes widened again as she regarded me. “Wow.” She echoed and I hummed.
“And the boy?” She asked next.
“He’s my kid, she ended up pregnant as well but I had no idea at all until now that I’ve crossed paths with her again.” I revealed and Erica looked like she might faint. She was clutching her chest as she stared at me right
now.
“You didn’t say anything about that to me. Were you gonna hide it if I didn’t ask about it?” She asked quietly and I rolled my eyes a little, my hand going up to massage my chest as I spoke.
“What? Of course not. Why would I hide him? I’m very happy about his existence and I fully plan on accepting him as mine.” I spoke before watching her face closely as I added. “Once we’re married, will you help in raising him and fully accept him as well?”
Erica let out a scoff as she folded her arms while glaring at me. “Why would I do that? He’s not my own child.” My eyes instantly narrowed before she dropped her hand and flashed me a grin. “I was joking, baby. Of course Successfully unlocked!

I’ll accept him and assist you in raising him.” She breathed out, but her eyes were a little troubled as she added
“But would he be the heir to the throne? Or the son I’ll bare for you?” She asked and I rolled my eyes. Was that even a question when the answer was obvious enough.
“Of course he will be. He is the older one after all.” I pointed out and Erica appeared wounded as she stared up
at me.
“No, that’s wrong. I can’t accept that. I’ll willingly accept you accepting and raising that boy, but you can’t make him the heir. I’m the one who’s supposed to birth you your heir, your heir is supposed to come from a woman you love!” She cried out while breathing hard as she regarded me.
“First of all, don’t ever refer to him as ‘that boy’ again, okay? He is my kid and I’m fiercely protective of him now even though I just met him today. He is gonna be the heir and nothing’s gonna change that.
I pursed my lips as I added. “And what makes you think I’m in love with you?”
She blanched while staring at me with widened eyes and I cussed internally as I watched her eyes well with tweets before she turned away from me.
Shit. Shit. Shit. I hadn’t meant to be so brutal. Even though I wasn’t in love with her, I haven’t outrightly told her that before, cause it was impolite as hell, especially since she throws the L word at me every damn day.
“Erica…” I began carefully. “I didn’t mean it like that, okay? You know I care about you, don’t you?” As I spoke, I forced muse of to pull her back and make her face me, even though the pain in my chest instantly worsened
from that little contact with her.
“I know.” She mumbled quietly. Her eyes were wet when they met mine, and even though this is the last thing I want to be doing right now cause I never do well around emotions, I reminded myself Erica was the sweetest soul who doesn’t deserve to be treated badly. She waited by my side for five years when some would have left
a long time ago.
She definitely deserved more.
“Good. Now, even if your son doesn’t end up being my heir, he’ll be just as relevant as his older brother. You have nothing to worry about, okay?”
She sniffled while nodding, then she slowly stepped forward to press against me, her softness melting against mine through the sheets wrapped around her.
“Will you fuck me slowly tonight?” She asked quietly and as I regarded her, I wished I could say yes. Fucking usually helps take a lot of things off my mind after all. But merely just being in here and breathing In her scent was twisting up my stomach and making me feel unstable on the inside, so I declined, telling her I needed to go take care of something important.
She pouted but nodded in understanding, then she leaned up and kissed my cheek.
“Good night baby.”
After I left her room, I was in so much pain and downright worried now. It’s been a few hours and the pain has yet to start reducing at all. As I headed outside, I briefly wondered if Ciara is also experiencing pain as well but I was certain she’d not feel a damn thing since she was human. It’s probably why I’m hurting so much, because I’m feeling two people’s worth of pain. As the night air fully washed over me now that I was outside, I decided to go for a quick run, hoping that would help with the pain.
After underrating, the shift was very painful, almost like it did the first time I shifted.
My wolf was still ignoring me, but he was glad to be left out, and as he ran through the woods, I hoped that when I finally got to shift back to my human form, that the pain would have completely disappeared.
