“I don’t care, mum. What the fuck? I’m not giving you this money!” I cried out as I got to my feet in utter annoyance.
She let out a choked sound. “You aren’t even making use of it! Why can’t you just give me?” She demanded and I scoffed.
“Cause you’re selfish, mum. And you’re not a good person at all.”
“all of that dosent concern me.” She pointed out flatly. “So, are you agreeing or not?”
“I absolutely am not.” I responded.
“it’s just sitting collecting dust, while I need it urgently. If I don’t get more money, how can I afford to keep traveling?”
I shrugged, not caring one bit. “I don’t know, you’ll probably steal from an innocent person again. That’s more like you, after
all.”
“Ciara!” She shouted and I scoffed.
“I’ll never give you a dime from the money, font waste your breath.”
She let out an angry sound. “It’s my money, after all. Isn’t it? Now, I demand it.”
“Didn’t you say you did it for your lively children?!” I snipped and she ended up spluttering.
“At the end of the day, whatever you say wouldn’t make me change my mind, mother: even if I won’t spend a dime in the rest of the money, you wouldn’t too. It would remain there until I end up returning the part of my money to the rightful owner.”
“What the…” she was still speaking when I ended the call. It was as I stared at the phone while my chest kept expanding from how hard I was breathing, that I slowly remembered that I didn’t end up arriving at anything meaningful from the whole conversation with my mother. With an irritated sigh, I contemplated calling her again before the door suddenly bursted open and in came Kai. He was full of energy, bouncing on his toes as he sprinted towered me.
“No running.” Zoren called out before arriviing st the doorway and it pleased me so much when Kai actually istened and slowed down. My eyes met Zoren’s. He was standing in the entrance of the room, his dark eyes raking over me all the way from there and I felt a shiver course down my spine before I focused on my child again. He finally stopped in front of me, beaming hard and at once, my heart swelled with so much love for him as he threw his arms around me, vibrating with clear happiness.
“Mommy, I had the best day today!” He cried out happily as he broke the hug. I cupped his face and rested my forehead against his for a few seconds until he stopped physically vibrating. That’s a trick I learned years ago, that best helped him in calming down.
“Did you now? And what was it about?” I asked, grinning at him. I could hear Zoren coming closer in the background.
“Zoren and I went out. He took me to see a lot of kids, that are my age. And guess what, mom.”
“What?” I asked whine also sucking in a sharp breath cause that was the same moment zoren dropped into the spot beside me and slinked his arm over my shoulder. He was sitting so close to me that I could feel his body almost brushing against
mine.
“All the kids are just like me, mum. They were all strong!” He cried out as he bounced on his feet again. That made a pleasant feeling settled in my chest.
“Really?”

He nodded fast. “They don’t fall when I push a little. They’re also really fast. But I was the fastest and the strongest though” He grinned bashfully at the end of his sentence and I laughed as I kissed his cheek while combing my fingers through s hair.
“I’m glad you had lots of fun, baby.” I murmured and he grinned before pointing at zoren.
“Zoren and I also went mountain climbing. He said that could help improve my strength.” He revealed and then he began to gush about all the other things they did today. As he spoke, I kept thinking about the fact that zoren was even more amazing than I realized. I was fully aware of Zoren who was now flushly pressed against my side, I wasn’t sure of when he inched even closer but right now, his hand was around my waist, his fingers trailing over my ribs lightly. It was hard to fully hard focus on what Kai was talking about at some point.
“And you, how did you spend your day?” Zoren asked after Kai finally stopped talking, and Kai nodded eagerly.
“Yes, mommy. Did you have fun?”
I snorted. “Not as much fun as you. That’s certain.” I tickled his ribs as I spoke and he chuckled and pulled away fast.
“Your father and I talked.” I said to Zoren who instantly tensed up.
“You did? What did he talk about?” He sounded tense and I wondered if he was worried about me.
“Well, nothing much. he’s not gonna treat me so harshly anymore, thanks to you and his grandson,” I revealed, then added. “And we had a moment. He hugged me. So, it was nice.”
He looked like he had grown two heads.
“What? That really happened?” He uttered, sounding shocked and like I just grew two heads.
“That’s true.” I insisted. He ended up shrugging after some minutes. “Well, that’s for the best. He knew I wasn’t gonna change my mind anyway.” He snipped before sighing and leaning closer to me, then to my utmost bewilderment, nuzzled my throat, right in front of Kai.
My mouth hung open and my face flushed a deep shade of red as my eyes panned in Kai’s direction. He was watching us, his head tilted.
“Kai…” I began, as I tried but failed to push zoren away.
“Mommy, are you and Zoren together?” Kai asked and I shook my head while zoren nodded.
“We’re not. We’re just friends.” I rushed to add and shot zoren a look when he wanted to object.
“Oh.” Kai muttered. He sounded disappointment.
