Substitute Wife, Genius CEO novel Chapter 559

Xavier's footsteps faltered, his voice heavy with despair. "I just want to see her."

"Xavier, it's over between you two. A decent ex acts like they're dead and stays the hell out of the other person's new life."

Xavier refused to accept being an ex. He and Summer were childhood sweethearts. They were supposed to get married, have kids, and live a beautiful life together.

It wasn't supposed to end like this. He couldn't stomach it.

He desperately wanted to make amends, to win her back, and to fix every terrible mistake he'd made so their lives could get back on track.

If Summer would just give him one more chance, he would devote his entire life to loving her. He would never let her suffer a single grievance again.

Xavier's tone hardened. "Silas, I know you have feelings for her. Are you truly saying this for her well-being? No. You just want me to back off so you have one less rival to compete against."

Silas let out a low, amused chuckle. "You're delusional. Yes, I do have feelings for Summer. But you? You're not my competition. My only competition would be someone Summer actually acknowledges. Do you understand? I am keeping you away because your presence genuinely ruins her day."

Xavier's grip on the bouquet tightened until his knuckles turned white and the veins in his hand bulged.

Silas was right. Only a man Summer acknowledged had the right to compete for her. Xavier had forfeited that right a long time ago.

But he still needed to see her. He wouldn't be able to breathe until he knew she was okay.

Four bodyguards stood outside the VIP suite. The moment they saw Silas, they promptly opened the door. "Mr. Sinclair, please come in."

Xavier tried to slip in right behind him, but a solid wall of muscle blocked his path.

Xavier furrowed his brows. "Get out of my way."

The bodyguard remained stoic. "Apologies, sir. Our boss gave strict orders. You are not allowed inside."

Xavier glared at Silas. "What did you say to her?"

Silas arched an eyebrow. "I didn't need to say anything. I just mentioned I ran into you downstairs."
