Meanwhile, the traffic police had wrapped up their investigation into the accident.
After reviewing the intersection cameras and the dashcam footage, it was evident that Natalia had panicked behind the wheel and lost control.
However, Preston, sitting right in the passenger seat, could have easily intervened to prevent the crash. Instead, he had coldly watched it happen, offering nothing but calm verbal instructions as they barreled toward the other car.
An officer questioned him at the precinct. "Mr. Quinn, why didn't you intervene? If you had grabbed the wheel, you could have prevented the entire collision."
Preston leaned back in his chair with infuriating laziness. "I wanted my wife to experience the consequences of her actions. That way, she won't make the same mistake twice. I am fostering her personal growth."
The officer stared at him, utterly speechless.
Since Natalia showed profound remorse, actively drove the victims to the hospital, and voluntarily paid for all the damages, the police let it go with a steep fine and points off her license.
That night, after sending off the last of their wedding guests, Tessa and Harvey rushed to the hospital.
Tessa was sobbing so hard her bridal makeup was completely ruined.
Summer smiled and comforted her. "Alright, stop crying. We're perfectly fine. It's just a mild concussion. Consider it a mandatory vacation for us."
Vivian started shooing them away. "Go back to your hotel. What kind of newlyweds spend their wedding night crying in a hospital room?"
"Exactly," Summer agreed with a laugh. "We're not missing any limbs, and our organs are intact. Go enjoy your night."
At that same moment, inside a lavish mansion in Empire City.
The crisp clink of crystal glasses echoed through the opulent living room. Natalia smirked and took a long sip of vintage wine. "Thank you, Preston. I haven't been this thrilled in ages. Summer will never guess that Lilith Sutton has returned from the dead!"
"You have no idea how euphoric I felt seeing her head covered in blood. It was intoxicating. I had to try so hard to hide my smile that my eyes actually started tearing up."
Preston poured her another glass. "Patience, Natalia. The game has just begun. We're going to take our time and slowly torture them to death."
Natalia threw herself into his arms, cupping his face. "Preston, I want her to suffer a gruesome death!"
Preston gazed at her with sick obsession and nodded. "Whatever you want."
"And Tessa and Vivian too! I want them dead!"
