Surrender To Us, Our Luna (One Luna, Four Alphas) novel Chapter 539

Chapter 539: 539-We Stand Together

Troy:

"Oh God, that must be terrible for you," I told Haiden as I sat beside him.

"You are married to the same girl you cannot stand."

By the time we reached the ground where they had kept Clementine in a cage, it was already too late. She had begun her transition.

After that, everything descended into chaos.

Ian shifted as well because he wanted to draw the attention away from her and toward himself. In the end, he must have decided that it was better to go through it with her than to let her face it alone.

So many warriors were sent against us that we spent the next two hours fighting without pause.

Eventually, they arrested us.

They claimed the entire public was furious that we had sided with monsters. Now we were all sitting inside a dungeon.

The headmaster had been released for the moment so he could have a conversation with the council.

Until then, Haiden, Leysa, Fauna, and I were sitting together in a room.

Since then, we had all been sitting together, sharing everything. The two girls were seated side by side, talking quietly.

As soon as I said that, I saw Fauna lift her head and look at Haiden. Haiden immediately shot me a sharp look.

"I do not hate her. Who told you that?" he snapped.

He had completely changed his tone. He began saying something entirely different from what he used to say in front of me.

"Do you not remember? We both used to tease her about it," I reminded Fauna, then glanced at Haiden.

He narrowed his eyes at me.

"I did that because when I like someone, I bully them. Understand?" Haiden shot back.

My smirk widened.

"Oh, so you liked her," I teased.

We were still covered in dried blood. Of course, we had managed to save our own girls.

The way Haiden’s attention had been entirely on Fauna in the field, the way he had protected her, told me everything. I had always known he was lying when he claimed he did not like her.

"You do not need to lie. I know the truth, and I am unbothered," Fauna snapped at him for the first time.

"Once all of this is over, we can reject each other and move on with our lives."

I did not hear her giggle or speak in that irritating tone she usually used. And honestly, that scared me.

I was scared for Haiden.

The way she snapped. The way she held herself. Yes, he had truly pissed her off.

Leysa and I exchanged a look. Then she shifted closer to Haiden, and I moved closer to Fauna.

"Are you not happy with this marriage?" Leysa asked her.

The look on Fauna’s face told me the two of them had already discussed it. That was why it surprised me when Fauna suddenly backstepped.

"It does not matter. He is a scumbag," she muttered.

I turned to Haiden with a smile tugging at my lips.

"Seems like she knows you so well."

I commented and Haiden narrowed his eyes at me, and I went quiet.
