“System Notice: Player Northwind has granted you full access and contral permission for the Small Oil Refinery & Production Unit!”
Riley stepped up to the resource production unit and leaned in to study the contro! panel.
The machine operated on a straightforward logic, its interface nearly identical to those of regular resource-gathering nodes out in the wilderness.
The center of the panel displayed the total crude oil stored inside the unit. On the right sat a dropdown menu listing Crude Oil, Gasoline, Diesel, Premium Lubricant, and other refined options. Once a byproduct was selected, the system automatically converted and deducted the required amount of reserved crude oil, outputting the finished fuel directly.

“We’ve just accumulated enough stock for one full batch of refined product,” Southwind said, pointing at the progress bar on the screen. “You can extract a barrel right now and test it out, SpicyBurger.”
Riley did not decline. She pulled an empty gasoline canister out of her Inventory, twisted off the cap, and set it beneath the discharge spout.
She selected Gasoline on the control panel.
Hiss-
A low mechanical hum rumbled from within the unit as the discharge valve slowly creaked open. Clear pale-yellow gasoline flowed down the pipe, gurgling into the metal canister. The sharp, distinct scent of fuel spread through the air at once, harsh yet strangely reassuring.
In less than half a minute, the ten-liter canister was filled to the brim.
Riley sealed the lid neatly, stowed the canister back into her Inventory, then glanced at Southwind and NorthWind with a satisfied smile. “This is a huge help. PineappleBeer and I are both fresh out of fuel for our snowmobiles, and we had no clue where to restock.”
“Sorry. We really didn’t dare make it public before,” NorthWind laughed awkwardly. “It’s the classic case of owning something too valuable for your own good. Honestly, having this thing in our hands has kept us on edge every single day.”
“I get it. It’s smart to keep rare resources under wraps,” PineappleBeer chimed in.

The four chatted as they climbed back up the stairs from the basement, emerging into the firelit campgrounds.
Night had fully fallen, and the wind and snow outside had grown far fiercer. Icy shards stung against exposed skin, sharp enough to make anyone shiver unprepared.
They split off afterward to check on their respective guild members.
Once their patrol rounds were done and everything was confirmed secure, Riley and PineappleBeer returned to sit beside the Bonfire Altar. PincappleBeer held her hands out toward the crackling flames to warm them up.
“I scouted the enemy’s perimeter a little while ago.” PineappleBeer said quietly. “WarWolf Guild is still camped right where they are, clearly waiting for their main force to arrive. They lost over 60 men today, and even left their siege vehicles behind. With their ruthless plunderer mentality, they’ll never back down easily.”

Riley poked the bonfire with a stick, sending sparks flying into the dark air. “WarWolf still ranks first on the leaderboards, and they’ve got massive backing. I remember the stats listed their total membership at just over 500.”
“More or less.” PineappleBeer pulled up her system interface to double-check. “Even after today’s losses, they still have at least 400 fighters left. That’s a massive gap over Sanctuary Guild in second place.”
