“Another 100 more on top of that makes over 200 total-that’s still terrifying numbers.” NorthWind swallowed hard.

“We can’t just sit around waiting for them to strike,” Riley said after a moment of quiet thought. “We need to set up heavy defensive lines. I’ve stockpiled plenty of gunpowder. If we bary explosives along the front perimeter, we can deal massive area damage and break their charging formation apart.”

SouthWind’s eyes lit up at the idea, only to frown right after.

“Gunpowder we’ve got, but the system enforces strict crafting rules. Without the proper blueprint, just stuffing gunpowder into barrels and rigging fuses by hand will tank the power and waste tons of resources. That’s the last resort we want to avoid.”

He had a point. The game’s crafting stations worked flawlessly, but trying to make refined gear manually without official blueprints always came with unpredictable failure rates.

Just as everyone fell into a dead end, SouthWind suddenly smacked his thigh like he’d just remembered something crucial

“That’s it! How could I forget about him?”

He stood up and called out across the camp. “Felix! Felix, you still alive? Get over here now!”

A chubby young man with bandages wrapped around his head jogged over, looking confused. “What’s up?”

SouthWind turned to Riley and introduced him. “Riley, this guy ran a fireworks factory back in the real world. He worked the assembly line himself-a total expert on homemade pyrotechnics. He’s always bragging in the Server Channel about how great his old factory was.”

Felix’s face lit up once the talk turned to his old trade, though he scratched his head awkwardly at SouthWind’s praise.

“Come on, don’t exaggerate. It was just a small workshop,” he said modestly. “But I know my craft. Half the nearby towns bought their fireworks from my place, never a single accident in years.”

“Alright, if we supply you with materials, how many explosive charges can you crank out by hand in one night?”

“Handcrafted overnight? Hard to say exactly. But mix it with crude oil, and the firepower will be more than enough.”

“Make a list of whatever you need,” Riley cut in. “I’ve got plenty of gunpowder. Coal, niter, sulfur, I don’t have much of, but I’ll have everyone pool what they can spare.”

SouthWind added quickly, “Don’t worry about manpower either. Grab whoever you need to help, just make as many as you possibly can.”

Riley made a quick decision. “SouthWind, I’ll send over a batch of gunpowder right now. Have Felix lead a team to work through the night nonstop-I’ve got big plans for these explosives. I assume you still have crude oil stockpiled here?”

“Plenty. We originally planned to abandon NorthWind’s outpost anyway, so we moved all our oil into the guild warehouse ages ago. Supplies are stacked high.”

Felix rubbed his hands together excitedly, took the materials Riley traded over, and hurried off to round up helpers. “Leave it to me

I’ve got this covered!”

With explosives now in production, Riley turned her mind to frontline firepower:

WarWolf Guild had overwhelming numbers. A head-on fight would leave them at a brutal disadvantage.

“I actually have a secret weapon perfect for stopping frontal charges,” Riley said, glancing at PineappleBeer and Tartking. “I can mass-produce Gust Light Crossbows at my camp’s production line. They don’t hit extremely hard on their own, but they come with a strong knockback effect-absolute game-changer for defensive counterattacks.”

“Knockback?” SouthWind caught the key detail at once, standing up in excitement. “That’s exactly what we need! If we can get our hands on dozens of these, WarWolf’s forces will never break through easily!”

“They’re great, but they’re still blue-tier gear,” Riley said honestly. “If we want to arm every survivor from Hope Guild and alliance with one each, we’ll all need to chip in crafting materials together.”
