Chapter 366 Quiet Before the Giege

Chapter 366 Quiet Before the Siege

“I get it now.”

NorthWind took a deep breath, the confusion in his eyes fading away, replaced by unshakable resolve.

Riley brushed bread crumbs off her hands and stood up, stretching lazily.

“Alright, enough moping around. I cranked out 50 Gust Light Crossbows all by myself tonight. Even with stamina potions chugged, I’m worn out to the bone. I need some sleep badly.”

She yawned and glanced around the camp. “Where’re PineappleBeer and TartKing?”

NorthWind nodded, shaking off his melancholy. He gestured toward a black tentucked in the far corner, close to the outer wall.

“PineappleBeer and TartKing are resting over there. PineappleBeer patrolled around midnight, probably only got a couple hours of shut-eye so far,”

“Thanks. You get some rest too. Dawn’s coming fast.”

Riley waved him off, freshened up quickly, then dragged her exhausted steps straight toward the corner tent.

She lifted the tent flap and leaned halfway inside. In the pitch darkness, a cold glint of steel shot toward her in an instant.

Swish!

A glowing dagger halted less than half an inch from Riley’s throat.

Riley didn’t even flinch, still holding the tent flap open. With her current agility stat, dodging the strike would’ve been effortless- but she recognized the presence right away.

Inside the tent, PineappleBeer’s icy gaze softened the second she saw who it was.

“My bad.”

With a flick of her wrist, she twirled the dagger smoothly between her fingers before tucking it back into her sleeve. She lay back down on a thick snow bearskin sleeping bag, her voice rough with drowsiness.

PineappleBeer was a light sleeper; the smallest disturbance could snap her into full combat readmess in the blink of an eye.

Riley lowered the flap, sealing off the wind and snow outside. She pulled off her work jacket crusted with ice flakes, shook it off casually, and hung it on a wooden rack in the corner.

PineappleBeer checked the time on her game system interface.

“It’s already half past four in the morning. You’ve been up this whole time? I thought you were just going to crash over there.

“Nope.” Riley rubbed her stiff shoulders and pulled a blanket out of her Inventory. “I finished 50 Gust Light Crossbows with knockback effects. Even working assembly-line style drained a ton of mental energy. I pretty much pushed myself to my limit.

“Besides, I wanted to bring the weapons over as soon as they were done. No one knows exactly when WarWolf Guild plans to make

their move.”

She curled up under the blanket and added casually, “I left Joseph and the others enough materials to craft matching bolts in their spare time. We’ll have steady amme supplies for a good while.”

PineappleBeer rolled onto her side, propping her head up with one hand. She studied Riley’s clearly worn-out profile.

“You seem pretty confident we’ll win this fight.”

“Confidence isn’t the point.” Riley settled into a comfortable lying position. “This battle’s inevitable either way. WarWolf’s clearly got their eyes set on our guild base too. Drawing the fight right here works in our favor.”

“Fair enough. I don’t care much for all the rest of the drama-I just want this guild, and all of you, to come through safe.”

Riley laughed softly, putting on an exaggerated teary-eyed act. “Wow, you’re gonna make me cry. Having you on our side really is a lifesaver.”
