Chapter 367 Traps Ready for the Onslaught

5 Free Cong

Even with Pineapple Beer’s sudden movement earlier, Tartking only stirred slightly, mumbled in her sleep, rolled over, and drifted right back into dreamland.

Bathed in dim light, Riley and PineappleBeer glanced at Tartking sprawled out carelessly without the slightest sense of grace, then shared a quiet smile.

The three girls were squeezed inside the cramped tent. It was a tight fit, yet it brought an inexplicable sense of peace.

Washed over by overwhelming exhaustion, Riley soon fell into a deep slumber as well.

“Chow time! Everyone grab a bowl while the soup’s still hot!”

“Felix, you finished laying those traps yet? Don’t let them fizzle out when we need them!”

“Relax, Bruce. Anything I make is top-tier quality!”

“Hanna, just sit tight there. I’ll bring your portion over to you.”

After what felt like ages, noisy chatter outside the tent roused Riley from her sleep.

She rubbed her eyes, tossed off the blanket, and sat up.

A quick check on her system interface showed it was already noon.

She’d slept like a rock, completely unaware the sun had risen. The tent was empty now; PineappleBeer and TartKing had long since gotten up.

Riley lifted the tent flap, and a rush of crisp, cold air filled her lungs.

The wind and snow had finally stopped.

Weak sunlight filtered through heavy clouds, spilling sparingly over the snow-blanketed frozen wilderness After rest and quick repairs, the Icefield Drifters Alliance camp had regained a touch of liveliness.

Most players who’d stayed in the wooden shelters recovering from severe injuries were now awake. They gathered around several large iron cauldrons, holding wooden bowls, chatting and laughing loudly as they sipped steaming mushroom soup and munched on pastries and bread.

If one ignored the WarWolf Guild forces still lurking 250 yards outside the camp, watching them like predators, the scene felt warm and peaceful.

“SpicyBurger! You’re awake!”

Hearing the rustle from the tent, Tartking hurried over with two wooden bowls in her hands.

Right behind her walked PineappleBeer, holding two loaves of bread.

Here, fresh hot soup. Saved you the best portion, loaded with rib meat.” Tartking handed the bowl to Riley, her eyes crinkling into crescent moons with a grin. “You slept so soundly last night. You didn’t even shift positions once after I got up this morning. I had no idea when you even came back.”

Riley took a big sip of the hot soup, warmth spreading through her chest instantly. She shot Tartking an exasperated look and teased her right back.

“You’ve got some nerve picking on me. You were practically half sprawled over me in your sleep, legs almost draped across PineappleBeer’s stomach. If she weren’t so easygoing, she would’ve kicked you straight out of the tent.”

“Did I really?” TartKing laughed awkwardly and mumbled quietly. “No wonder my legs feel sore this morning.”

The three of them ate their late brunch together while getting down to serious business.

Riley turned to PineappleBeer. “What’s the situation on the front lines right now?

PineappleBeer took a bite of bread and replied calmly, “WarWolf hasn’t launched any real attacks since sunrise. Both sides are just busy shoring up their defenses.”

She nodded toward the edge of the great rift and the front of the camp.
