Chapter 368 Ambush on the Reinforcement Route

Chapter 368 Ambush on the Reinforcement Route

“That’s exactly the key point need to talk to you about.”

PineappleBeer’s expression turned serious as she casually traced a rough sketch in the snow.

“It lines up perfectly with what you analyzed last night. WarWolf has plenty of members, but the Magic Energy Core consumption of the Guild Portal limits them-they can’t pull off large-scale mass teleportation in a short time. I kept watch from a high vantage point this morning, only spotting a squad of over ten slipping from their compound on skis to join the opposing position.

“At this pace, if BloodWolf refuses to splurge resources, it’ll take until tomorrow at the earliest for them to gather an assault force of two to three hundred men.”

Riley narrowed her eyes as she stared down at the sketch, quickly running calculations through her mind.

“Squads of a dozen arriving in batches…” She tapped the line on the sketch, marking WarWolf Guild’s only approach route. “If we just wait here idly, their full force will eventually pile up, and all the pressure will crash straight onto our defenses.”

PineappleBeer nodded in agreement. “We’re out in the open while they lurk in the shadows. Their main force is still on the way right now. I was thinking-if their reinforcements still haven’t arrived by tonight, we could circle around and lay heavy ambushes along their only supply route. We can craft homemade explosives now; every bit we whittle them down counts.”

“I’m fully on board,” Riley said. “Rather than letting them gather their full strength, we strike halfway and wear them down first. Moving in broad daylight is too risky-we’d get focused fired on for sure. Night’s our only shot. And we can only rely on trap ambushes; our numbers are too thin to send out a decoy team to intercept them directly.”

“Deal, that’s our plan set”

After lunch, Riley regained her stamina and wasted no time resting.

She headed over with TartKing and PineappleBeer toward the colossal vehicle WarWolf Guild had abandoned awkwardly right outside their camp gates.

Siege Breaker Tank.

The entire vehicle was plated with thick, riveted steel armor. The massive batering ram mounted at its front still bore scars from smashing through the camp’s barrier, exuding an imposing, domineering aura.

SouthWind, NorthWind, and the others stood clustered around the war machine, murmuring in awe as they tried to dissect its structure.

“SpicyBurger, come take a look at this behemoth.” SouthWind patted the heavy armor, his tone laced with regret. “WarWolf Guild is loaded to pull out weaponry of this strategic caliber. Shame it’s system-bound property. The vehicle can’t change ownership until its original owner is dead, let alone stow it away in the Inventory.”

Riley stepped forward and brushed a hand over the icy steel plate. A system prompt popped up instantly.

“Warning: This vehicle is the property of WarWolf Guild. Non-guild members are prohibited from operating it:

“It’s fine.” Riley brushed flecks of rust off her hand without a care.

“It’s stuck inside our camp now, and WarWolf can’t drive it back either. We might as well leave it here as an oversized shield bulwark,” she smiled faintly. “Once we wrap things up here, its ownership should reset eventually.

Northwind and SouthWind had no objections whatsoever. By the end of the day, the injured members of icefield Drifters Alliance had steadily recovered thanks to wound dressings and potion treatments working in tandem.

With Hope Guild stepping in powerfully and ample combat supplies fully stocked, the heavy, despairing atmosphere hanging over the Icefield Drifters Alliance members had vanished completely.

Everyone grew more familiar with one another, brimming with unshakable confidence that they could win this seemingly lopsided guild war.

The afternoon slipped by in a quiet, unspoken standoff between the two sides.

WarWolf Guild busied itself setting up temporary camps while waiting for reinforcements, dead-set on overwhelming their foes with sheer numbers. On Riley’s side, they took their time fortifying their defenses at a leisurely pace.

Riley even found spare time to retreat into her tent and open the system’s regional trade channel.

She instructed their usually low-profile members to make a sweeping bulk purchase in the trading post.

They traded for a massive stock of rare combat supplies-healing bandages, attribute-boost potions, arrow crafting materials, and other vital consumables.
