Over at the Icefield Drifters Alliance, anger flared to a boiling point. Several hot-tempered members already had their weapons

drawn.

“Quit your yelling! One more word and we’ll cut you down right here!”

Hanna had always been straight-tempered. She snapped at the accusation in an instant, gripping her bloodied longsword and storming forward.

“So many of our people died because of you lot, and you still have the nerve to run your mouths!”

“You sabotaged the portal, didn’t you? You animals!”

“Damn right! Ungrateful cowards! All this mess started because of WarWolf Guild, and now you dare point fingers at us!”

More Icefield Drifters Alliance survivors raised their weapons in unison, closing in on the WarWolf survivors with hostile glares.

Feeling the deadly shift in the air, the WarWolf group finally backed down. Frustrated, they kicked the unresponsive portal a few more times, grumbling nonstop.

“Work, you worthless hunk of stone.”

A brawl was about to break out, yet SouthWind and NorthWind made no move to stop it. They let their people vent freely.

Tensions had been stretched far too thin, and everyone needed an outlet for their rage. Bad blood had existed long before this day -and the WarWolf members had walked straight into it. They had no one to blame but themselves.

The skirmish by the portal was completely one-sided. It was over/in moments, the raging Icefield Drifters Alliance survivors quickly dealing with the troublemakers.

Afterward, they double-checked the portal and confirmed it was truly dead. They signaled toward NorthWind and SouthWind by the main gate to report what they’d found.

The remaining WarWolf factions dared not stir up more trouble. With the portal useless, staying alive was their only priority now. “How is this even possible? We all came through this portal not long ago, and the fighting never even got close to it.” SouthWind looked at the signals coming from the people beside the portal, confusion written all over his face.

NorthWind’s brows were locked tight. As the camp’s lord, he could sense the portal’s true status. On his game system interface, the portal was clearly marked as functioning normally.

“It’s not a permission lock,” NorthWind muttered. “Something external is suppressing it. My panel shows no faults at all.”

“It’s those things.”

PineappleBeer broke her long silence.

She sheathed her dagger and stared toward the four colossal shadow figures, nearly 40 feet tall, in the distance. A deep wariness lingered in her eyes-as if she had seen something like this before.

“This feels just like the boss lockdown mechanic inside dungeons,” PineappleBeer said quietly. “Once a high-level boss encounter triggers, every teleportation item and portal within a set radius gets sealed off completely. The only way out is either slaying the

boss… or getting wiped out entirely.”

“That’s dungeon raid rules but we’re out in the middle of the snowfield.” TartKing breathed out in stock, still busy casting buff spells nonstop.

“There’s no time to waste debating this,” Riley’s voice cut through the murmurs. “We have nowhere left to run. We have to stand and fight. I can only hope our camp hasn’t drawn these monsters. If it has, Joseph and the others will never hold the line on their

own.”

Riley turned to NorthWind and SouthWind. “Get everyone ready immediately.”

NorthWind and SouthWind were sharp enough to grasp the gravity of the situation at once. They exchanged a glance and nodded firmly.

“We’re on it.”

NorthWind drew his longsword and shouted across the camp.

“All Icefield Drifters, gather up! Prepare to fight street battles behind the camp structures!”

SouthWind and NorthWind quickly rallied their core supporters who’d come to reinforce.

Tartking stepped forward as well, counting the Hope Guild members, assigning posts, and rationing supplies.

As for the broken remnants of WarWolf Guild, they remained trapped in despair over the sealed portal, scattered into small cliques across the open ground like lost strays, overcome with fear and uncertainty.

Riley walked straight through the chaotic crowd, gripping her axes as she came to a stop in the camp’s center.

Every shouting voice fell silent the moment she passed. The thick, tangible killing intent rolling off her silenced everyone instantly. She stood before the Bonfire Altar, her gaze sweeping over the panicked WarWolf survivors.

“The portal is dead. Anyone still plotting something selfish has exactly two choices. Either lend you quickly right now, or I toss you outside the walls. If you’re fast enough to reach the rift before the monsters tear you apart, you might get a quick death from the

fall.
