The mutated fire woll charged straight toward.

in a violent shockwave.
An astonishing scene unfolded.
and sapphire fire rippling outward
The crawling monsters, whose shadow–coated hides could hardly be pierced by blade or steel, shrieked with a sharp hissing sound the moment they touched the dual–colored flames. Their protective black mist melted away instantly like snow scalded by boiling water.
The corrupt blood within their bodies, meant to slow and cripple the survivors, was suppressed by the blazing fire and never got the chance to spray forth.
“Arooo!”
The fire wolf moved freely amid the monster horde, pouncing and tearing through foes without pause. Every strike left smoldering embers and clouds of ash in its wake.
Its flames carried true damage and natural resistance against shadow creatures, making it the perfect bane of these abyssal monsters.
Beneath the stunned stares of every survivor, that red–and–white streak of lightning ripped apart dozens of crawlers in its path, then leaped forward and landed steadily right before the Bonfire Altar.
Turning around, its massive frame stood like a burning wall, shielding Riley firmly behind it.

The wolf lowered its noble head, nuzzling its flame–wreathed muzzle gently against Riley’s blood–streaked palm, letting out soft, whimpering sounds as if seeking affection.
“What the hell is going on?”
“Whoa–this is backup! Long live the guild leader!”

cheers.
Even Riley was surprised. It was one thing for a fire wolf fresh out of the egg to already be this huge, but it had actually recognized its master from birth too?
While the wolf cleared a path ahead, two breathless figures stumbled and scrambled over piles of mangled monster remains, rushing toward them.
Joseph and Jack were covered in black monster blood, their chests heaving with exhaustion, lingering terror still sharp in their eyes. Slung across each of their broad backs were two full baskets packed tight with refined steel bolts.

These were the latest output from Riley’s camp workshop, the stock she had ordered them to keep producing nonstop
“How’s the camp holding up?” Riley frowned and asked at once.
She felt genuine approval for these survivors. Putting combat strength aside, their loyalty and courage were beyond fault.
“The camp’s mostly fine, save for one building on the far left getting blown sky high.” Joseph swallowed hard, nodding toward the fire wolf still tearing through monsters nearby.
Jack tightened his nicked broad–blade sword, steadying the tremor in his voice as he quickly reported to Riley.
“Everything was quiet at camp until half an hour ago. The lodge you set aside on the west side for the gryphon and treant suddenly erupted in blazing red light. I was on tower watch at the time, and I panicked, thinking enemies had circled around to set fire to the camp. I rushed to get Joseph, and we grabbed buckets to put out the flames.”
Jack drew a deep breath, still shaken by the unbelievable sight he’d witnessed.
“But the second we reached the door, we heard a thunderous heartbeat pounding from inside. Then… the whole lodge just exploded out of nowhere.”
“Exploded?” Riley asked in surprise. “Did any other camp structures take damage?”
“N–no, everything else stayed untouched,” Joseph wiped sweat from his brow and cut in. “Right after the blast, this massive fire wolf stepped out of the rubble. Its fire burned even brighter back then–it nearly roasted Jack and me alive.”
Joseph nodded upward toward the gryphon circling above Riley’s head.
“Cheep–cheep!”
